so wanna do a 1 off beefy grow with cheap disposable lighting lol thanks for the input and advice

Learner, when I was first growing, I would only do 1 plant, 600 watts, and LST/supercrop/rapeANDpillage that poor creature... It took a few runs, but I could get 9z from one plant. If you can swing a closet to do it, 300 watts of LED can do that, with things dialed in. And, with AFN along for the ride, you have the best help there IS in the autoflower world. I've learned so much here, I should buy a perma-noob tshirt! lolol

Yeh wen I started it was just the 600w but wiv 4 in soil n would get 5-6 each with thx to great advice from afn but the 9 each is impressive!, never had a poor run tho n ive recently switched to led and will continue to run my small scale high yield setup n looking to progress it to hydro n scrog as my next step however just looking to do a 1 off larger scale as an opportunity presented itself as I sed, thx agen n i actually watched that video lol quite intriguing as was clearly genuine but doesn't help lol

A friend told me just this week that his bill this month came with a flyer from the power company offering a $500 U.S. reward to anyone who turns in a grow house. He said it started out about millions in stolen power but ended with "If you have any information about electricity theft or possible grow house activity contact their office". Its the "or" that rubs me. They want to play cops whether they are the victim or not. This was added to it:

Here are things to look for.
Growers frequenting the house at all hours of the night.
Growers bring large amounts of potting soil to the house.
Windows covered at all times.
Tall stockade fences.
Many air conditioners.
A strong skunk odor coming from the house.
The houses lights are timed to specific hours.
Windows constantly have condensation on the inside.

Well it is relevant if your talking suspicion, cause clearly a power company somewhere sent out letters informing people. In that case i don't think he was targeted and was the only one that got the letter, maybe some kinda campaign internal shit they were sending out. Bottom line is, pay your bill, don't leave hints of growing in the trash or out and about for others to see. The Police can not get a search warrant only by a electrical bill alone, they need more evidence.

I would assume.... if you live in a medium populated area there are tons of people the electric company services, so it would kinda have to be a big flag or give them reason to even look. They are just like any other business they want there money. Just don't be flipping 10k of lights. So if you don't give the cops a reason to look in the first place... then i would imagine you don't have an issue.

I know where your coming from because i am in a non friendly state so the thoughts do cross my mind as well. I am not trying to run a 10k setup lol, but i would imagine if i keep it under 3k then there shouldn't be an issue. Now i live in a fairly large home, its not like i am pulling 3k out of an apartment. I bet that would look suspicious.

I seen someone post awhile back, not on here i think, that found a shitty hot tub on CL for 100 bucket and stuck it next to house, just in case someone was to walk up they could easily justify the usage. If it was ever in question. I have in the past gotten letters stating something to the effect that "your power usage is higher then your neighbors here are some tips for lowering your bill"

Anyway thats my take on it, its not illegal to use electricity just pay for it.

I'm sorry, I thought the topic touched on will electric companies get you busted based on consumption. Just put in this 2 pence worth to suggest that its not just about size and consumption in some places. Silly me.

Remember that some electric heaters use up to 3000 Watts alone. Dehumidifiers and Air Conditioning which people would have plus Electric Stoves and Electric Showers also use a lot of power.

I've been told that you can have up to 12 x 600 Watt lights running (in my country) without raising suspicion. As long as you pay your power on time.

Actually the grow shop owner advised me to even call the power company, explain that I've recently moved into this address (which they will know anyway once the name on the bill for that address changes) and say that we use a lot of power normally but the bill seems a little higher than usual and is there another tarriff or some discount they can give you. I.e. you call them and almost be complaining or concerned about the high power bill you are getting. Like what suspicious person would ever do that kinda thing.
