Update: after 24 hours, my res is still below the 70.5 starting temp. at 7:30 am, res them was 69.5! factor in room temp obviously. By keeping my room temp below 76F I was able to keep the res below 70F for 24 hours, only using one, 2 liter frozen bottle to cool an 18 gallon res. Of course higher room temps will mean a faster rise in res temp, but with improved insulation, I'm willing to speculate that even in an 80F room, you could keep the res below 70 for close to 24 hours. Eventually, I'll be upgrading to an RDWC system, and will us a DIY chiller in the control res. to cool what may be a 60 gallon + water volume.
Also, the babies are looking fine! I see some minor growth already. Transition in DWC is much gentler on seedlings IMO.
