Dragon Meds The Dragon Tests - Pal

Hey guys just a quick update, I've got the moonstone seed between paper towels as of yesterday afternoon, just waiting for her to split open and she'll go into a Root Riot, then shortly after into my new DIY 40L res - this could either go really well or really bad so brace yourselves
Root riot cube is soaking in 1L of water with 4ml of Rhizotonic PH 5.8, and the clay pebbles have been washed and also soaking in water PH 5.8. EC/PH meters both cleaned and calibrated along with all other equipment so we're all set! Will add a few pics once there's some action :peace:

That is the most impresive single res i have seen, i think i may have needed that for my blackjack, but then she would be hittin the roof lol. How many litres of air r u pumpin per min?

Thanks bro, it's experimental but I have confidence  I have two pumps both 30lpm pumping oxygen into the res so potentially 60lpm. :peace:

Have u used that much air pumpin before? I have a hailea 60l pumpin my blackjack but i rekon if i started with that it would have destroyed the young roots, that being said ur res is double mine so maybe ull b rite, keep an eye on it though

Yeah I've had similar concerns when running 30lpm through a 15L res but I wont know until I try this time around, if it's too much I can just run one pump but in my limited experience reducing the amount of oxygen doesn't really help matters. thanks for the heads up though I appreciate it :peace:

Hey, quick idea. You want the bubbles to oxygenate the water, your not (i think) looking for the bubbles to go though the roots. How about some sort of deflector that would sit between the airstones and the young roots so they arnt to disturbed. Once the root are established you remove the deflector so not to limit root growing room.

It's a nice idea but I think one of the problems with lack of oxygen/bubbles is that the roots sit in still water which isn't diffused at all so they're under more pressure if that makes sense? More diffusion gives the roots pockets of air to breathe where as still water doesn't allow that..im not sure on the science or specifics about this but I'll look into it some more, maybe a hydro pro will stop by

Maybe look into boss hoggs micro technology, 25 micron bubbles so they are all smaller and less intense, better spread but more cleaning involves to keep em running

Ps im pretty sure seymour buds end up with 60 lpm when he does his big autos, but starts off witg 3 plants ans brings it down to 1. Maybe he will know if u will get problems with it
