New Grower The Hazzle's first grow

D88 F56 end of 8 weeks flower.
Right I've decided to switch lights off to give 48 ish hours of darkness to harvest Friday morning.

Pots feel very light so hopefully that will help them dry out a bit better. Even with dehumidifier in the tent can't get it below 60degrees.

Had to decide really as the veg tent is getting a bit out of hand.

No Hermie there, it's common to get swollen calyxes at the nodes usually one or two per node. I think you just have some really tight nodes there. They'll swell up fat a long time before your buds are done.

Taang found on one of his grows that if the calyx at the node turns brown that's the first indicator of Bud rot. He was able to save most of a plant that he had some rot startup on by noticing that.

I trim everything pretty loose these days and then if I want the thing trim tight I'll do it right before I smoke. Got a lot of carpal tunnel and it really saves the nerve pain.

D90 F58 HARVEST DAY
Wet trimmed and now on drying rack in 60x60 veg tent with dehumidifier and mini fan.

Trimming is tough! Took me all day. Will definitely be investing in better scissors next time. A better seat too my ass is numb from sitting in the tent all day.

Tried some scissor hash in my
Dynavap today for first time and for me pretty toasted!

Bagged up the trimmings, got about 4ozs now in the freezer. Might give a tincture or RSO a go. Quite like the idea of a stealthy option on hand and for guests that don't smoke.

Didn't weight the buds as I wanted to weigh them dry with no sticks just buds. The critical kush auto yielded quite well.

Got Girl Scout cookies, gorilla glue, painkiller xl CBD and another candy kush in the flower tent now but the next run I think il definitely try 4 autos instead.

Plans to leave them drying for about a week or so? Then get some mason jars to cure.

Update

So the 4 candy kush express photo yielded 90g total

The critical kush auto got 45g

135g Total. Would've been happy with that if it was just the 130w purple LED in there but the cob light I added in halfway through flower at 370 wall watts I would have thought it would have made a bigger difference.

I wonder at what stage light is most important?

At veg I'm now only using a 65w quantum board which I reckon is plenty and can just veg for longer if need be.

This next run I've got the full 500w from day 1 of flower and they are all in 15L pots instead of 10. Also topped and LST these ones and was vegged for over 6 weeks.

Fingers crossed! If the yield is crap this time round I'll invest in new lights.

Could probably have gone a little longer with the candy kush. Will experiment with daily watering but less water opposed to soaking them and waiting for them to dry out like the first grow.

You did great for your first grow! I wouldn't go running out investing in a whole bunch of new lights right away. I'll bet with your current setup if you just work the dial-in in your environment and your Technique you could increase your yield by about twice what you got this time.
