Hey guys I'm new here to the forum as well. I am a photo grower and never grown autos. I had gotten on here a lot lately to read about think different as I'm really interested in the strain. I ordered 20 TD seeds and now I'm sort of regretting it.

Reason being is I am a member of a couple other forums and asked for some advice and experience with this strain. I've read nothing but great reviews on here but on other forums I'm told it yields superb but has absolutely no high and they could pretty much could not even give it away. After numerous replies with about the same rep on the strain I'm very down after spending that much money.

I also here it is not good for commercial growing since it basically has no high. All of my friends and few customers are used to smoking photo period strains as that's what I'm used to growing as well. The info I'm hearing on other forums is also mainly from photo growers/smokers which I'm sure the majority here are strictly auto. So maybe if one is not used to photos this strain is killer and the ones that are used to photos it just won't get you high.

Now I'm considering putting these beans back somewhere or selling them to someone and running with my backup plan of c99 and gdp, unless somehow you guys can make me decide and "think different".
Thanks for reading and glad to be here on the forums with u guys!

MountainBudz,

I removed your two duplicate posts about this that you put in two other forums here on AFN; please do not multi-post on our forum. It makes it that much harder to respond to a thread if we don't know which one is the active one to respond in.

As to your Think Different, I would recommend you try growing them out for yourself and seeing what you think. We have many members on here that have enjoyed the strain (and there are also others that didn't find it to be up to their tastes.) I've grown a few of them personally, I thought they were amazing yielders but honesty it wasn't the "stone" that I was looking for when it comes to my preferences. I would definitely give it another shot myself though; it wasn't so bad I would say "never again."

Just a heads up since you mentioned selling, the sale and trade of canna equipment, including seeds, is strictly forbidden on our open forum as well, as a safety precaution for members.

Appreciate your consideration on the multi-post and good luck with the Think Different! Why don't you start up a journal on here? This is a great community and great people, if the strain doesn't make you think different, spending some time on AFN sure will! :pass:

Hey hobbs thank you for your reply! Sorry about the duplicate posting and also about mentioning that. I sometimes get ahead of myself and don't look over the terms and conditions, my apologies.

Can I ask what it is that you didn't like about the high of the think different? I personally don't like a narcotic stoned feeling, I like a overwhelming cerebral devastating high myself. Something very intense and trippy that can make you sweat beads if you over consume. Sativa is my cup of tea, how did think different feel for you?

Thanks for your response.

Hey MountainBudz don't know who's been pulling your leg…if you like a good intense saliva high Think Different IS the way to go, I love it and it was one i couldn't develop much of a tolerance for, i would blaze it every morning and get the same result….Plenty of us on here are growers of both autos and photos, and know a good high when it hits us, Give it a try and decide for yourself, i don't think you'll be disappointed.

Dude, your friends are full of shit. There is a set of photo growers who simply have no idea of how good autos are today. They are stuck in the past and refuse to point their chin downward. You can put Autos and Most photos side by side and not tell the difference in looks, quality and potency. Actually the autos have more "bag appeal" than many of the photos. I just grew a heavy THC photo called Dog Walker. It smells like a gym jockstrap (used of course) and looks even worse. Even the large colas dried out and trimmed look like larf. But man is it good stuff. However looking at it, I would never pick it up at a club. My auto buds are much prettier and more appealing than the photos.

Thanks a lot guys for filling me on that! I've been trying to get as many reviews on this strain as possible, now I'm beginning to build up excitement for the strain again.

I would like to share my setup that I will be using as well.

Tent #1: 1000 watt HPS hortilux eye, 4x4 floorspace, c02, 3 or 5 gallon smart pots, not sure yet and will be running anywhere from 6 to 9 plants. It will be tight but I have a lot of experience with training and crowding. I'll probably run the lights 24 or 20 hours a day not decided yet. For about 6 hours out of the day I will dim her down to 50% output to save on the bill. That is the only downfall I'm seeing so gar with autos is having to run lights constantly. I know it would be bad at all with LEDs but I haven't gotten around to getting them yet.

For medium I will probably use a mixture of perlite mixed heavily with promix hp or perlite mixed with roots organic. Not sure yet, and will fill the bottom quarter of container with fox farms ocean forest with added perlite of course to act as a super soil when the the roots have reached the age when it matters the most.

Will probably order AN ph perfect line with some additives that I have called golden tree and Humboldt counties own gravitation #10.

Tent number two will be exactly the same as one only running a 600 watter in it. I'm probably gonna order a ushio 1000 watt to replace my hortilux eye.

In your guys opinion when is the best time table to harvest TD? Can someone explain the high in depth and any pheno variations? I'm hoping running the system I'm running I will have a huge yield as well, hoping 3 ounces or a bit more per plant.

Feel free to correct my setup or give advice I'm very open with that.

It should cost you no more than $20 extra on electric… if done properly and can be finished in 70 days…that's around a whole month quicker than running a photo strain..time, the one thing we can never get back.. TD is a very stable strain indeed, there is very little pheno variation that I've seen in my grows, or that of others, as for timetable. There are two aproaches to growing autos, it's philosophical as far as i'm concerned, one you can treat the plants as Ruderalis crosses, or photo strains crossed with Ruderalis, What i do and with good success is switch to bloom nutrients around 10 days after showing sex. which can be as early as day 24, this appears to force flowering but in no way stops the plant stretching, the great thing about some autos is the ability to start going into full bloom while still stretching, or you can wait till the stretch stops before switching but this will cost you time meaning the finish time will be more around the 85 - 90 day mark. TD is also a great strain for training and can take a lot of abuse.

Your set up sounds great and i look forward to seeing how you do, good luck.

Hazy you are a generous guy, people pay money for that kind of advice from an experienced grower like you.
You & Corgy are making me want to try some Dutch Passion.

Hello Chum,

I have to echo what SoH said, we can not be seen to condone or encourage any commercial chatter on AFN. It is what keeps us and yourself safe.

That said, welcome to AFN, please do have a look around and get to know us. We are quite friendly and most of us don't bite. I would guess that a lot of what your hear regards TD is bias against Auto's.
We can't change that, other than be ourselves and hope you will judge for yourself. I have not grown it myself, but have never heard bad things about it. DP make some stunning Auto's. TD should be no different

Enjoy, eP.
