Lighting Time to start building.

Well that's what it should be running need to get a meter to check. I threw this together as a bare bones best efficiency for the lowest price i could get with BigSmo's help. Already thinking for the next one. Gonna invest in some better drivers for the next one. Like your thread I think my cob addiction has started and I don't even have results yet.

Mine is running a bit more than the math says it should. 302.4 watts per the math. I wired in a meter on mine the other day to watch what it does, it's running 309.8 to 313.6 watts. I'm hooked for sure, I'll do another soon, but I was informed I will build the new kitchen table before another light even gets ordered. LOL!

@iampepe I understand, before I get anymore money in my light budget I was told the kitchen needs new ceramic tile. I can do tile but I hate it. Was going to pay someone, but if I do it myself I get more money for lights. I am probably wrong on that but, that is what I am going with.

We do what we gotta do to play... :pass: Break out the tile cutter :smoking:

I bought a meter and it is a little higher than I thought. I was using the 1818 specs because I was told they were very close to the 1812. Either way it is a little higher than I expected, but still close to the range I was expecting 440 I am running 487.

How much did you end up spending on your build in total?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
44x2 driver 88.00
8x18 Heatsink 144.00
8x18 Cobs&holders 144.00
Wire 3.00
Thermal Interface 8.00
Plug 7.00
1/8 Angled Aluminum 40.00
Total $434.00

Now that did not include shipping but I had a discount code for cobkits which pretty much offset the shipping. You can also do better on the plug and the angled aluminum I just buy from a local hardware store that is a little bit more expensive. Try to shop local when I can. This is total is about 20.00 more than I paid for my Mars Hydro 2 1200 which is supposed to pull 550 watts but does about 475 if I remember correctly.

I was originally going to run 12 cobs on the two drivers to increase the efficiency, but I have my temperature dialed in with this set and it is working great. I am going to use the other cobs and heat sinks I ordered to make a smaller light for a small tent and flower some photos in there. :bong:
