Hey guys,

New to this page and new to DWC with Autos so, I am looking for some advice if possible. I have just purchased Fastbuds Stardawg and before I do ahead and root them, want to cover off the following:

. * what temp should the res be roughly night/day?
* what temp should the tent be at day/night?
* what distance from the plant would you have the lamp? (600w dimmable lumi)
* what are the basic nutes the plants need to survive?
* on a auto, how many times would you do a res change based on 60/70 days?

I have grown in soil previously however, hydro is a whole new ball game to myself, seen and heard so many wonderful things about it yet, so many horror stories but I am not want to be deterred haha...

I know the basics of PH and Ppm so, any other relevant information would be greatly appreciated ...

PS, if you could keep it laymans terms would be superb haha stay blazed ✌️

G'day @BigPuffer420 !
Have a look at the hydro section, plenty of info there!

Hmm, some quick and dirty responses to your questions..

Room temps should be consistent, within 30c and 20c when lights out

Resi temps should be 20-22c (get an aquarium heater)

I run my light as close as possible without cooking them (weather monitor set at canopy, airflow always and never above 30-32c) to combat stretch others will chime in with the current agreed hieghts.

Humidity between 50 and 70

Foods? I use FloraNova single part and then play with toppers.

Very simple and effective base nutrient, cheap, stable. Me likey :pighug:

I change every 2 weeks and don't really go above 1.0 EC unless they can take it!

Hope that helps!

The above is just my experience, TBH I'm on the soil at the moment and find it a chore compared to my hydro rig haha!

Happy growing friend, tag me in when you get goings!

And just like that my faith in humanity is slightly restored thank you brother..

I've came from soil which I found to be pretty simple, just think the transition to hydro made me para haha...

I will be starting the seed tomorrow and I will begin a diary.

Using RDWC 2X30L (with 47l top res), 600w lumi, 8" rhino extractor.. Thinking of using a trellis net as I'm limited for height incase they stretch but don't want to stunt them as I've heard "you should just let em Autos do their thing"?...

Wowww, curve ball right there 'EC'... What's that if you don't mind me asking mate? I know about Ppm/Tds and PH but not EC haha...

EC is electrical conductivity, just another measurement really,

I am used to it over TDS/Ppm from way back when I used synthetic nutes, made sense that salts and alkalinity might be more accurate measuring EC as opposed to TDS..

That said, I only use 'organic' based foods now for my girls, maybe I should change my read?

I get brutal with my autos otherwise they get to big! Haven't had to many issues with training or defoliation but topping didn't go well when I tried. I'm to lazy to scrog haha

Hahaha that's completely thrown me :face:.. So far I've been told to start from PH water week 1-2 then slowly but surely work my way up with the nutes until I see them go into bloom, then up them to full strength gradually, never exceeding 700 ppm..

I'm going to be using advanced nutrients so as it's my first auto and dwc grow, going to take it easy and keep this one pretty simple until I can find some comon ground, then I may start experimenting haha

Oh ya! Didn't mean to run max nutes stait away!

Follow your nutes guide starting at 1/4 strength take notes on your readings and read your plants of course, you will settle in to a routine with hydro

700ppm is about 1.0 EC depending on the calc used (there are 3 formulas to convert)

EC is a good measure to use if your tap water is hard, basically with hydro, whatever works repeat and KISS!

For sure mate and I've heard good things about the Fastbuds range and as Stardawg is one of my favourite strains, it would be rude not to give it a try haha

Welcome to the Family, @BigPuffer420! :toke::pass:
As you can see, we're here to help and looks like fettled6 has got you covered nicely. I'm just a humble sod buster, but if you ever get stuck just give me a shout. I don't know much, but I know people who do
Karma for your crop, and happy growing! :smokeit:

Much appreciated brother, leaned so much in such a little space just by reading some threads, buzzing to get my grow going now, seeds are in the paper towel as we speak haha
