Hey guys,

See topic, essentially. I've been very curious in LED lights for a long time now, and I'm really interested in Quantum's Helios and Super Helios range. Since the Super Helios is basically brand new I'm not expecting anyone to have any info on that, but if anyone's used the Helios series I'd be really curious to see what they're saying. Next year may be the year I switch from HID to LED lighting.

Many thanks.

You can get the same or equivalent units much cheaper elsewhere bro!

Bilbo is right you can get the same unit from china I've just brought 1 of these and they are from the same company as the heilos are made by

Isn't the whole point of buying LEDs not to go with cheap, Chinese knock offs? I thought that that was one of the primary reasons why the LED market is taking such a long time to gain any precedence with growers, as they're very expensive and there's a lot of shit about.

Though, having said that, I was unaware that Quantum had all their stuff made in China. That might be a bit of a deal breaker for me. What's a well respected brand of LED that can kick out the power of a 600w HPS (legitimately) and manufactures their own stuff?

Might want to look into Advanced LED ... Mine all say 'Made in the USA' but they are a couple years old ...

Thing is with Chinese companies they get to the market with crap copies of things that consumers want but in something as fast moving technologically but still very much a niche product as led grow lights it doesn't take very long for the bigger Chinese companies to sort their shit out and bring better versions to market driven by customer demand.

Hi spider hate to break it to you my friend but 99% of all LEDs are made in China, But what you get from companies like GN and Quantum is a 5 year guarantee and a 90 day money if you are not happy with the light, but will only get a 2-3 warranty on parts if you buy direct from china.
There is a sub-section in this forum about LEDs from China, have a read make up your own mind, that's what I did and I'm happy.

That may have been true 5 years ago. However, the chinese have spent time in developemnt of these light now and have some very good products. I have two 300 watt TopLED lights that have been runing about 3 months now and they are performing quite well. I paid $240 U.S. for the pair. I am more than satisfied with them and plan to buy 2 more. My plants love them, you can see the proof here: https://www.autoflower.org/f5/mixed-indoor-grow-33438-3.html

Yea, but as mentioned here elsewhere, this is still new tech. Lets see what that 5v year warranty gets you when your light is obsolete in 2 years. And at 4 times the price of my " Chinese Junker" I can upgrade them 3 times..... I'm trying to grow plants with my lights, not impress them...LOL!

I'm trying to grow plants with my lights, not impress them...LOL! well said pop, My plants couldn't give a shit if it has quantum or whatever written on the side of the light as long as it gives them what's needed. I also felt the 5 year warranty pointless thats why looked towards China for a cheaper option and like I said I'm very glad I did.
