Awright folks! I'm going to post this in my grow thread and in the general forum (cuz very few read the grow). I have a decision to make and I'd like as many opinions from the peeps here as I can get.
:tiphat:

I have a weird plant I'm debating on either giving the full chop or a partial soon.

Here's the scoop:
Unknown bagseed photo strain in DWC bucket
4x4x7 Lighthouse
800w HPS (2x400) and 120w BS HO LED (half of a 240)
Day 133
Bloom Day 71

This plant has done some really funky stuff during her life so far. Two periods of stretch after switching to bloom with a long period in between has caused 2 sets of blooms. The (now) inner portion of the plant has the original stretch and bloom set and are nearing finish. The pistils are now rapidly browning all over and curling up. What frost there is...well, isn't much but it's turning. After the first stretch and bloom set was well under way, something happened and she "paused" for several days and filled up the DWC bucket with roots. After that came a second stretch for several days and all the affected tops branched all over making this big "hairball" of growth on the end of each limb. A second bloom started on nearly ALL the growth on the tops after this happened but are very thinly set so far (but are growing). YES, the main cola is hosed. I'll post a pic below but it's not very good image, but you'll get the idea.

Of course, a full chop is self-explanatory, but here's what I'd like to do...
Give her 48 hours of dark to push the resin and start nipping out the good stuff that's ready from lower down the limbs and inside and continue as they are ready leaving the "hairballs" on 12/12 to develop afterward. Did you notice this is completely backwards from normal? Normally we take the tops and leave the under growth for a second chop, but this thing went completely ass-backwards.

Here she is...it's an older pic (9 days ago) but the camera was cooperating at the time!

So what do you think? What's the best way to work this?

Thanks!

Sounds like a good plan to me ... looking forward to harvest pics ... :Sharing One:

I just decarbed a sample from the bottom in the oven for a quick taste. Of course it was a bit rough, but it's all about the buzz.
OH YEAH! Very nice! Light head then blends into a heavy body and lasts a while.

Hey Chester! Thanks for the response!
More updates and pics back in the grow thread (signature link). I guess this one didn't get around much either. 46 views and only one opinion.

Oh well....

As big as your plant is and as varied the maturity you should be able to spread the harvest over a month or more if you've got the time ... a chance to try different cures w/o having to commit the entire harvest to just one way ...

I've noticed journals get more response when using a popular seed from a well known seed bank ... big pictures help too ... after loading photo but before submitting you need to double left click on the photo and choose a larger size ... I posted this one of my last auto Jock Horror so I could recall how to enlarge the photo ...

Chester! You are the Man! Changes applied. (NICE plant BTW.)

Max Reps for that one!

Yeah I know. A bagseed grow don't mean much to most folks. But still we need help once in a while and this is one of those times I'd like some input. That's the reason I go to all the trouble to write all this mess and put it out in the common area. Oh well, if enough is done she's probably all coming down next weekend. If not this coming then the next, ready or not. I know an week extra is not going to give her enough time to come out of stress, but this grow HAS to end very soon. My kids are coming for summer. THIS is why I need advice on how best to maximize what I've got. Otherwise, it's all at once.

Thanks Man!

Tx, I for one congratulate you on a fine looking girl and a harvest that my meekats would be proud to chop. I just love bud porn no matter if its from a top seedbank or a milf (or gilf) of unknown parentage!
But I'm just a dirty old penguin. C'est La vie
Sláinte mhaith!

If you're up against a set date in time such as the arrival of your kids, you need to give yourself about 2 weeks minimum to dry and start the cure ... mine always smell the most while drying and then later when burping the jars ... I have a couple set dates in my life right now ... the shorter lifespan and race to the finish of autos works better for me although I did squeeze in a photo grow this past winter ...

Nice! Ponytail, huh? Yeah, that's why I wanted to get into autos. Size and speed. The photo grow was to knock the rust off my brain and get familiarized in DWC before I spent major cash on autos.

I really needed and planned (was asked) to get a run of SD/MS in before the kids came (in 6 weeks) and now I don't have time. If I sprouted this very moment, I'd be chopping right after they got here. The long veg and double stretch cost me a lot of extra time. The long veg being my bad.

I'm not worried about what they think, they know already what I do because of my lupus and insomnia. I just don't want them at home alone while I'm at work with an active grow in the house. It's still illegal here. You know the deal! As for drying and all, I'm not worried about that. Miz Dubya will be done before they get here.

The tent, lights, and all will be occupied by a convenient tomato plant while they are here as part of my "prepping" education in hydro. For my next trick...outdoor NFT! For lettuce and other leafy veggies.
