I dont really like autos in most hydro systems to be fair

well at least ones that grow in the same media/res as others as pheno types can screw you over on feeding schedules so thats most systems ruled out for me

always wanted to try a freedom bucket/ earth box though

Can someone lead me in the right direction on understanding PPM (thread maybe?) and why it's important & how to adjust it? I'm on Day 39 of a grow and have not checked ec or ppm.. what kind of problem will this be if I didn't check it the whole way thru the grow? Thanks...

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I have never grown in a hydro system but was wondering if instead of using lava rocks or anything like that to start the plant in, Is it possible to use soil?
Probably not possible but imo it would be the best of both worlds. Fast growth with big yields and still the good grown in soil taste.

Few questions here.co2. Max ppm and what temp range. In sealed room should serc fans be off?
Next I think my nutes stained my roots how to tell. no slime.
H2o2 is it needed my water stays at 62ºf.or as low as 60 never higher.

confusing post but ill try Muggz !.... c02 ?. what about it ? ...if you mean is it good /worth using ect .I never have but hear people do & swear by it ?

Max ppm ? completely depends on age ,size,health of plant ... you can tell if ppm's are to high if they keep going up or they will drop if to low ...ph usually does the opposite....so if ppm rises & ph drops ...top off with just water to bring the ppm down 50-100.... if ppm drops & ph rises ,add nutes ,up it by 50-100 ..... you want the sweet spot when she empties the res of feed & water at the same rate so the ppm's & ph will stay nice n stable for ya

Never used h202 as I have zym & you dont use them together ... there may be stuff in your AN line that wont mix with it either so be careful(voodoo uice ect) but I could be wrong ... your res temps sound fine though so you shouldn't have any issues on that score

DW Cocha, or anyone.....Why will the ppm "continue to rise" (if there is too much) ?

In an ideal world ppm rising is just overfeeding .The plant consumes what she needs & if there too much in the res ,that extra will concentrate through the week making the ppm go up ...same with underfeed ,if theres not enough nutes in the res she will consume them faster than her water uptake & dilute the res .This is what tells you her limits & where to set the ppm & when your in that range the plants are obviously happy .Thats the best tip I ever learned from here :Cool bud:

there's a few other things that make ppm rise ,algae , slime ,rot, light leaks ,high temps maybe ,not mixing nutes correctly ect ect ...basically all the things you don't want ,so if your ppm goes up fast & your not overfeeding there is probably something wrong you need to remedy ? Small rise or drops here & there can be normal as the plants feeding habits do fluctuate from day to day even :Sharing One:
