well first off, I don't really believe such a technique exists. at least, not that extreme.
if no one is doing it, there's probably a good reason.
either it's a valid technique, based on solid science, and in that case the knowledge is publicly available, and you won't be the only one in the world doing it.
ofcourse there's still a step between reading a paper and getting it to work in practice, but more p[eople will be reading that same paper, connecting the dots and bringing it in practice. you wouldn't be able to keep the knowledge secret, only difference you would make is that by helping those other people you can get them to skip trough the practice-step much quicker, but without your help they would eventually achieve your level too.
if there is solid science behind it and it's proven to have an effect but still no one is doing it, it's probably difficult or expensive to bring in practice. and/or everyone is shying away from being that first adopter who has the make all the practical errors before getting it right.
or it's not based on solid science, and it's probably just a stoner/gardenermyth that doesn't actually work, if you would test it well(high enough numbers, control group, identical environment, clones to remove genetic variation, good data analysis, etc).
but if I would be in that situation, I would share it.
I love growing weed. way more than I love smoking it(and now I've discovered breeding, the fun only increases). and I like to get more people enthusiastic about this great hobby. they'll have a new fun hobby, and I have more people to talk with about growing/an extra talksubject when hanging out. win-win.
I'm already sharing seeds and knowledge with friends who show interest. they're all just growing behind a windowsill, so I've warned them that they're probably not getting anything worth harvesting, but I'm happy to give them some free seed and tips so they can get enthusiastic about this great plant. and maybe some of them will start growing more seriously. after all, most growers started with 1 tiny plant behind a window, or a bagseed thrown away into the backyard.
