hey guys just wanted to see what the regular thread posters here consider a micro grow? obviously pc and cabinet grows, but do you use term as far as grow space or plant size? I have a just about 4 week grow journal in the indoor section but wonder if should have put here. I do closet grows, single plant 5gal pot. do autos and photos. generally my plants range 12 to 30inch depending strain. I still currently using mixture of 340 watt cfl. so not usually big grows average usually 14 to 28g for personal use. so let me know if this be better spot to post. thanks

Hey brother, I think a lot of people consider micro growing to be more about the space they are growing in than the size of the plants. In my opinion it's more of the emphasis on growing plants in confined or small spaces. You can take big strains and grow them as smaller strains by doing really simple things like just limiting the size of the pot the plant is growing in.

yea I was thinking it was probably more due to space. wel my closet is only 3×2×7 so it's kind of small so I guess I'd fit into this micro section. so maybe I will pick up my thread here with my week 4 update in a few days while I finish out the post as well In the indoor section.

@imlovennuggets I say it's more growing in a limited space is the first part of it like @Son of Hobbes said, but after a certain stage light output/wattage wise if also kinda falls outside the micro side, as in the past say a 250w hps in a cabinet was still considered micro but right on the edge but bump that up to a 400w hps or throw the 250w into a closet then it becomes something else, which for yourself you kinda fall into, myself i fall on the other side of the spectrum as in i typically have smaller micro grows.

But if you think your thread would fit better over here then bring it over.

Also looked at a few of your pics of your setup, happen to have a few more ? as we can help you get your area more dialed, also you don't necessarily have to go out and get say a new led panel awesome if you do, but those cfls can be switched for screw in led's and arranged a bit better for greater efficiency if you want to improve some things. Tag me into a post if you throw some up ;)

thanks mr.sparkle! no other pics atm but just using 6 42 ( 4 above 2 on tge side) in the splitters and 1 single 42 on the side and 2 23watt on splitter on sides. so basically I have 164watt above tge rest circle the plant and adjust with plant height. as worked pretty well for me got a decent 30inch photo about oz off it. best cfl grow I had others close but not as good..but anyhow I'm going to buy a VIPARSPECTRA Reflector-Series 450W LED Grow Light Full Spectrum for Indoor Plants Veg and Flower on Thursday to finish this out and then I can get 2 plants at a time. so ha I guess I'll be kind of out the micro grow area then. but since this current will be smaller I'll finish a grow log on here.

ah yes so a 3x2.7 closet is spacious for you then ha. my pots are 14in so ill be able to fit 2 in once led gets here. I'll be excited for 2 plants a time I've been doing just 1 for a while.

I grow in a 2x3 foot cabinet...same as yours. I just finished a 25 gallon photo Sweet Skunk (Peak Seeds BC) grow. The plant was massive. Not a micro grow. That being said I consider myself an organic grower who uses multiple micro growing techniques to grow large sativa strains indoors. I love to learn new things and I love the changing innovations. I think we all have a little micro grower in us.

Hi all

My space is also kinda small, but not micro, more kinda mini grow space, I have a 40cm x 40cm x 140cm tent space, also 40cm x 40cm x 100cm space, so two small spaces, one 40cm taller than the other. But space is tight inside both tents.

My first grow (currently running) 3 dinafem blue kush, 7 weeks into planting from seed, beginning to flower & nug up, looking great so far, very pleased with results, I started the grow with CFL's and now using a Mars 48 Reflector for flowering and finishing.

I do love passing through here as I pick up a lot of useful tips, so many thanks for all your input :)

@Haziikush9 Id still consider that micro well the tents more mini due to the height with it being more suite for growing one single plant with room for lights and filter but your space is micro

I guess no one has really ever defined whats micro or mini is as really there is no official reason to do so.

Hmmm maybe we should talk about defining it for fun ?

But of the top of my head id say anything under say anything under 50cm x 50cm x 75cm worth of area would be micro so round up say 200 Liters of space, seems a little large thinking that way, hmm will have to think on this lol

What do other think ? would be an interesting discussion
