Mephisto Genetics White lines.. Some problems?

@mephisto Here are my results from my germ test.
I sowed 5 White Trains and 5 Walter Whites.
I ended up with 3 White Trains and 3 Walter Whites.

2 White Train seeds never popped.

I had 4 Walter White seeds pop and 1 not pop.
The 4th seed that popped went on to form a weak stem and had to be culled.
So I'm 3 for 5 on both strains.

Hope this may help Mitch.

Mitch, can you please let us know if the Walter testing you requested has any general value to you.....or if this is just turning into every Tom, Dick and Harry showcasing the 1 or 2 Walter's they have growing(or not) with promises to dilute this thread even further?

As I understood it, the first 2 weeks was the test window.....or did I miss something?

Is there some sort of format you prefer, rather than this jumble of 1 failure, 3 good, 5 bad, 3 good......etc., etc.....

@Ronin I just started 2 sour bubbly, 2 white train, 2 walter white, and 2 ripleys og and I have ended up with 1 sb, 2 wt, 1 ww, and 1 rog. It sounds like about the same results. Now I'm playing catch up and have more ripleys and sour bubbly in germ now. The ones that did live look strong tho.

Hi corgy,

It's all important , from the people that are popping a couple to the people growing in larger numbers.
As there are customers that may buy only 1 or 3 seeds for example and whether growing little or large we want the quality /experience to be the same.

We put the Walters and heisenbergs in to germinate last night and we'll get our own testing live testing thread started where we can give real statistics and results for everyone to see.

Its important then to see if there are big differences between our methods and others.
Success and failure rates, hopefully any problems can be identified and quantified and in the end we'll have a good reference point for each strain and what people should expect,

Cheers

a big 'well done' and hearty thanks to @mephisto for discussing this publicly and with full transparency.

A lot of businesses would have tried to keep this quiet, or 'contained'.
The action Mephisto has taken requires big kahunas and truckloads of integrity.
Kudos!

In the meantime ... all my "White Lines" are on hold and safely in the back of the fridge until we have a definitive answer ...

Soaked my Walter last night as well.. And I'll keep it going and only report back if there is an issue, just to keep this relevant to growth issues.

On a side note, i pulled a white the other day as she was ready.. 84 days and just perfect, well that was a long grow actually as I wanted a lot of Amber.. Hard, dense, and uber potent looking buds!!!... In the curing racks for a few weeks then blast off!!!..

I started germ last night on 2 walter white, 2 ripleys, and 1 sour bubbly all 5 had popped this morning for replacing the ones I had issues with. It wasn't a mephisto issue it was me being excitedly overzealous and planting to early. I had to take a breath and gain some patience

Day 4 on my Walter babies. I have not lost any additional specimens and the 9 remaining all are looking good. Some are bigger than others and the ones that had the odd white tips formed an oddly rounded first set of leaves but all normal in my book so far. Will update again on day 7. Kind of regretting sprouting so many aliens to replace bad plants!

Here's my Walter White day 15. It started out with the white tips on the first set of leaves. Since then all has been fine and it is past the 2 week point which Mitch was concerned about. I'm expecting it to show sex any day now. This will be the last post in this thread for me unless any problems arise. I'll start a new thread for the remainder of it's life.
