Hey Folks, I have a pretty tall auto going and I am basically eye to top cola now.
I am wondering how big it will get.
My tallest indoor auto's so far have been about 48"
I won't be surprised if this one reaches 65".

So what was your tallest auto?

My tallest indoor auto to date is around the 6'/1.8m mark.

Dutch Passion AutoUltimate 1.78m or 5ft 11" in old money :D

I had a Samurai Jack hit 52". Got so big I had to LST it to fit inside by grow box.

I prefer strains that stay below about 28". Around 20" is ideal for my small spaces.

I think I remember you posting a pic of that way back when you grew it out.

I have the space overhead for this one, but since I am not using hps I am a little concerned about light penetration, I am pretty certain if she fills out well, she is going to be a full on lunker.

That's the problem I run into. If they get too big I lose penetration to the lower branches.

sounds like you may need to add some side lighting to cover those lower buds.some small CFLs maybe a way to go

I was just explaining light penetration to my wife. I have my 1kw's @ 12" its 80F so I think I should be good on my penetration lol that sounds funny

As I was thinking in my empty garden waiting on beans, I had an interesting thought. What if you were able to put a 400w HPS light on the floor? If you could cool it enough what would be the disadvantage other than monster buds? Hmmmmm I am sure there is something I am not thinking about

I think it would possibly stress the plants, but I am not sure as I have not seen anything grown with lights shining from underneath also.

One thing to consider is that the underneath of the leaves is not designed to absorb light, you will notice that after several hours your leaves will turn their tops to maximize their absorption of the light source.

It would probably be a good experiment, you just want to keep an eye out for light burn or stress.

i see i start the flower nutes too early my biggest auto so far is the purp amnesia going atm its 65 cm tall but ive always kept my plants low n bushy
