So I've seen some posts saying you should use 1gal. Pots instead of 3 or 5gal. Pots. Does anyone else want to chime in with thoughts or facts about doing this? I know coco is like hydro but something seems weird about such a small pot. Its not like theres a airstone in the smart pot.

HI, Carl :)
If I'm handwatering in coco, I'd use a 3 or 5 gal pot depending on what size I'm aiming for. I just ran some Dragons in 1 gal-hand watered- and its a chore to keep up with them once their in full flower. They want to drink 2-3x/day...
If I'm running coco/drip (I run it continually, now) I use 1 gal pots. I was sceptical about it, too, but I've been getting 4 and 5 footers from them, so I am convinced. Even though the pots are so small, their basically filled with roots, and with several feedings a day, they are constantly fed to contentment :) It sure saves $$$ on the gear, too!
:pass::cheers:

The thread to which you refer to was talking specifically about coco and using a drip system the smaller pot allowing more frequentl watering though this is also true I have found for hand watering again let's make this clear this assumption should not be made for soil ,, anyways here are two Tyrone's ain't sure what age but same, one is in a 3lites pot and one grown in a 6 litre ,same nutes same coco mix ,just the smaller pot dried out quicker and ended up getting fed more often

Well ill be handwatering and i work from the home so i could keep up on it. Wow i still cant get over the small pot size haha. How much smaller does it keep your plant in s one gal vs a 3 gal?
Well it didn't keep it smaller lol that was my thinking but I didn't take into account for the coco medium my first grow was in soil, unless you ment how much bigger,I am close to harvest so verdicts out but I think the smaller pot will yield at least a third more,ille take a PIC next time they are out,I can't wait to see the roots and compare
