<div class="bbWrapper"><b>Update: More LST and Nute burn</b><br /> <br /> Mr Piggy, going back to our previous discussion about humidity and air circulation for seedlings, does this mean that a propagation tray is a bad idea?<br /> <br /> Not much to report really. The girls are growing reasonably well now that I have conditions sorted out. It was definitely too hot and the light too close for a while, but they are doing better now.<br /> <br /> The santa has crinkly leaves that droop slightly, which I am putting down to low humidity. There is very little I can do about that now, but if anyone has any bright ideas let me know. I am spraying the soil quite frequently. Her growth is visible throughout the course of the day so I&#039;m not tooo worried, but I would like to figure out a solution for the future.<br /> <br /> The Mohan Ram is coping with lst nicely and I pinned her down a bit more today. She is also showing some slight nute burn after I gave her 1/4 dose of alga bloom, but growth has resumed to what I would consider to be a reasonable rate. Should I just give her plain water next time?<br /> <br /> Enjoy the pics and sorry about my filthy flat. <div class="bbWrapper"><b>Update: Flowering begins!</b><br /> <br /> As you can probably guess, I spotted some tiny preflowers on the Mohan Ram. Hooray!:booya:<br /> <br /> The girls both look like they&#039;ve settled in now and are looking healthy as well as growing healthily. The Santa has definitely perked up a bit and is showing some vigour. All this may in part be due to the fact that I watered them both yesterday. I added rhizotonic and canna pH pro bloom, which is just phosphoric acid I think. I added one drop/litre and pH went to ~6.8 according to my pH strips. I only watered the santa with ~200ml of that solution, would it just be better to water the whole pot, especially seeing as it&#039;s in a 7.5L smart pot? I&#039;m not sure if it looks thirsty or what but it&#039;s still a bit droopy. It might still be because of the hot soil, but I just don&#039;t know. Opinions please!<br /> <br /> Also, seeing as I watered with a small amount of water (for the santa) the peripheral soil didn&#039;t really get wet. I usually decide when to water by sticking my finger in the outer part of the soil because I don&#039;t want to stick it into the root ball. How should I now decide if the soil is dry enough to water? I also can&#039;t go by the weight of the pot and don&#039;t want to wait until it is visibly thirsty. Any suggestions would be great.<br /> <br /> I lst&#039;d the MR a bit more today and trimmed off a few leaves over the last few days to shed some light on future bud sites. All this seems to be having the desired effect, which you can&#039;t really see from the pics because it just looks like a little shrub. <div class="bbWrapper">Quick question, I&#039;m going to install my carbon filter soon and I&#039;m wondering if the temps are going to rise when I do, because it will slightly restrict the suction of the fan. I&#039;m just worried that after finally getting things just right it&#039;s all gona get too hot again. Temps are now ~26C</div>

Say, a 200 cfm fan with a 400 cfm rated filter.</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">it will def. cause a reduction in air flow, and most likely the temps will go up, i read about the budget concerns, but a small inline fan can be had for reasonable price with out paying for a big ruck I think that a 10 or 12 cm fan would be perfect maybe even too much for you, but with a carbon filter i think that it&#039;ll work well. hope it goes well</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">Just saw this and thought it might give at least an idea about reduction in airflow:<br /> <br /> <b>How much CFM loss is there through the filter?</b><br /> Every different size of filter provides a different resistance to each different size and style of fan you put on it, a filter at the <u>maximum exhaust CFM rating</u> has approximately 0.7 wg. pressure drop<br /> All Fans will have a lower CFM at a higher pressure.<br /> For Example at .5&quot;wg<br /> The 10&quot; Max-Fan goes from 1019 CFM to 885 CFM,<br /> The 12&quot; Max-Fan would go from 1708 CFM to 1595 CFM</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">Thanks for all the replies people. I would have used an inline but noise is as big a concern as cost for me. I read a lot about inlines, even small ones, causing a racket and my old one certainly did, though that was more powerful than the fan I have now. The one I have is 85 cfm or 144 cubic metres/hour and the it&#039;s a 75m3 filter. They said in the shop that the fan is for that filter, but perhaps not. I suppose my options are: a) keep the fan and filter and get a clip on fan blowing over the lights, because I&#039;m only using a 12V comp fan now so would probly have to get one anyway.<br /> <br /> b) take the unused carbon filter back and change it for a bigger one at the cost of 10 euros, but I may have some space issues as the one size bigger (150m3) is 20cm longer than the one I have currently. I could probably manage though. But can I use a 150m3 filter with a 144m3/hour fan?<br /> <br /> c) do both.<br /> <br /> I suppose I could test the filter and see how the temps are, as I don&#039;t think the guys in the shop would know, but that&#039;s a bit cheeky.</div>

<div class="bbWrapper"><b>UPDATE: The Filter Has Landed</b><br /> <br /> Hello All,<br /> <br /> I did decide to get a bigger carbon filter (150m3) and it is now installed. I am pleased to say that there is now no smell at all outside the cab and it was pretty noticeable before. Not so pleased to say that the temps have risen to 29.5ish, from ~27.5 this morning, even though I replaced the comp fan blowing over the light with a 12V clip which is way more powerful... Que Sera. If it gets too hot late in summer, which it probably will, then I&#039;ll have to get a bigger fan. I really hope I don&#039;t need to because it&#039;s right next to my bed and already louder than I&#039;d like. <br /> <br /> The girls are looking good despite the fact that I over watered the santa yesterday. I have started to lst the santa and have noticed an added bonus of lst which is that the stalk bulks up really quickly :thumbs: <br /> <br /> That&#039;s all really, as always any comments are very welcome!<br /> <br /> Peace <br /> <br /> TC</div>

<div class="bbWrapper"><b>Update</b><br /> <br /> Hello,<br /> <br /> I am pleased to say that things are going relatively smoothly and despite the fact that the Santa is still suffering from the hot soil and over watering, she continues to grow at a respectable rate (i think). The Mohan Ram is getting on well and there are actually quite a lot of pistils on her now, but they&#039;re not really visible in the photos. She had a very sudden onset of nute deficiency, probably a combination of things, but is looking much better now that I fed with some alga bloom (1/4 dose). I have continued to lst her and I just can&#039;t wait to see what she&#039;s going to look like late in flower. I really can&#039;t imagine right now haha. <br /> <br /> I have another fan on its way.
