......alright everyone....here are my thoughts on switching nutes later rather than sooner.........I stand by my original statement......Both of these plants started getting bloom nutes on day 25.(also switched to sodium same time). The genetics seem to determine the height of the plant.I have an indica pheno and a sativa pheno and both have stretched as much as anyone might need(IMO)......I am not a newb to growing and can base my statement on 100's of plants...including quite a few auto's.......so I know that many are gonna disagree with me but it is what it is.......I stand by my statement.........................................Changing nutes doesn't stop vertical growth........in fact when plants START to flower you can expect them to at least double in size by the time they are done...changing to the bloom nutes on day 25 when it has begun flowering seems logical...some people wait until day 30 or 35 depending on the strain....this particular strain seems to like the switch this "early"...my problem lies with the "hanging the light too close to the plants" rookie mistake!....LOL....anyhow...remember...vertical growth is controlled by genetics and environment.....nutes are just helping those 2 factors create the "perfect" balance.

Please feel free to post rebuttals and disagree......I do enjoy discussing the POTential of cannabis........would love to see and hear from those that have had different results..............Thanks Everyone!!!......"Stirring":tiphat:

I strongly believe in waiting till plants look to be in week 3 flower to give bloom nutes on autos, I think it's why my first auto crop I got 5oz's a plant, despite all the issues it went through. I don't think you really hurt your crop switching when you did, but think it's possible they could've gotten slightly larger with a later switch. I'm not a super experienced grower, just my opinion.

I said it -- monsters showin' their colors man. Outstanding!

I am not really gonna disagree with ya on that as I have no experience doing it that way...my point was that from my experience switching nutes "early" to bloom did not effect the height of the plant(in DWC anyway)....I was just making a statement that the height was controlled more by genetics and environment than by the nutrients...It could be a whole different ballgame in soil tho.....you could be right about the yield being effected...as I am not a super experienced grower either.....messed with autos about 5 to 6 years ago..in Happy Frog soil and 3 gallon containers mostly outdoors with those......before that it had been all photos.......and after(until this grow) photos as well.........I do appreciate your input on this and will take your ideas into consideration on the next run:grin: I have been following your new thread and looks like you are off to an amazing start!...thanks for following mine!....:tiphat::peace:

THANKS SOUTHSYDER!!!.....I am happy so far with this run.....all new equipment and tent this grow....I have a couple of limiting factors from this grow that will be dealt with and solved for the next grow.....honestly I am growing for medical reasons and care way more about quality than quantity....which I think I have accomplished so far......Thanks for following!:tiphat:

Nice frosty bushes you got there

Looking spot on mate, I love how you have some string tied to a cola to hang dry smaller buds! Plants helping plants ;) Keep it up bro I'll be looking forward to the harvest as I'm sure you will :peace: :smokebuds:
