New Grower Autoflowering @ F1 on photo/auto cross

you can use either.

from the crosses I have done or grown, (although it could be complelty by chance) using a male auto on a female non auto has allways brought me more non auto in the first 3 bx's, using a male non auto has allway had the oposite effect (although I have only grown 2 strains that had the non auto male dad)

do you have the principles of plant breeding (either issue) in pdf format? I just had a look on the kindle book store and it cost more than her kindle did!! although good books come at a premium

Sorry I don’t have it on pdf. I have the hard copy of the first edition. I like it better then the second edition; the second edition has a lot of info on gene manipulation.

Hey Budz.........Merry Christmas............:wiz:

Nelson..a couple of years ago I deliberately set out to see if I could find a difference in crosses if I Switched the parentage around..
and played them out for about a year...
Gotta say I only noticed small difference

But...That being said...I always Prefer to have the Mother of my Auto/photo crosses Auto..:D

Superstition I Think..rather than scientific..
But..
then I always say I am Plant Lucky..

I too have seen auto-flowing in the F1. It
is mostly seen when you outcross to early flowering indicia strains.

Zy has My Theory..
I'll explain more later..I get the evil eye for being on the net Christmas day...

I'll get in to yap as soon as time allows...........

Enjoy the Day everyone....:booya:

It does remove the option of breeding the offspring back to the original plant as the pollen could be stored from the photo. do you think the ir would be any need of the original photo pollen or do you think it would be better to store the auto pollen for rebreeding?

This is just a simple question and not one that requires referring me to esoteric test books. Opinion is fine. Does it matter if you are using a male photo for the female photo with an auto where the sole purpose is to turn the offspring into autos?

It doses not mater, which way you go. You will have autos in the F2’s

I will add that I prefer to use a auto-female x photo-male when outcrossing.

Merry Christmas back to all of you from the Christian I am not. But never objested to the spirit of it or the words.

I don't know why I would prefer the photo to be the male I guess it is from my days of dog breeding and you can pick a male that best influences what you want to improve in a bitch. The fact also is you can breed the photo male to a couple of different auto females to improve your chances. I like that aspect.

This thread ROCKS. Answering so many questions I couldnt find answers (or trust the answerer) for. I have a hard time learning from textbooks as Im a noob and my breeding vocabulary is limited at best.
I appreciate that y'all answer in the KISS format! At least I can follow enough to get the jist then learn from hands on experimenting.

Many thanks to OP and posters. Great thread....

i know i see in non autoflowering strains lot of males flowering under 24 light
but what are they if they flowering under 24 light ? and what are autoflowers?
please explane beter my english is not so good

Males need to be taller and faster than the females, or the specie would not be perpetuated.
