You could technically do what the HUGE pumpkin farmers do if you just want a couple monster tomatoes, trim all suckers, and let everything go into the "few" or "single" tomatoes on the vine. Won some county fair shit "round here" for tomatoes and pumpkins. Granted the televised 800 to 1000+ pounders i cant touch but i had a 300lb pumpkin a few years ago. All done to trimming. I cant grow cherry tomatoes (i love to snack on them so much) cause we have a greedy chipmunk AND squirrel that eat them before they are ready. Im stuck in an apartment til we find a house too. I hate not having a yard. Anybody got a good chipmunk/squirrel deterrent/remedy? I dont wanna kill them

Calcium is also very important for tomatoes to prevent blossom end rot. Also keep the pots evenly moist to help avoid the tomatoes from splitting and try and keep the leaves dry to avoid virus infections.
