Feel free to skip this bit

I know what I know, and I know what I know isn't enough [emoji6] so I thought I'd do a grow diary as I'm looking to properly start growing now I've done 6 amateur grows but know i have a new job so I stay local so can really get involved with giving my plants the best and getting the best out of them, any advice, pointers greatly appreciated I'm certainly not a know it all.

What I have

1x 2.4x1.2x2m grow tent

1x 1.2x1.2x2m grow tent for drying (my old tent)

1x Plant!t Aeros-1 System

1l flora grow

1l flora bloom

1l flora micro hard water

Ph reducer o7 organic

Ph tester

1x led panel wattage unknown possibly around 200w or more (used before to grow)

1x KINGBO Dual Optical Lens-Series 600W LED Grow Light Full Spectrum for Indoor Plants VEG and Bloom(Two Switch, 12-Bands)actual wattage 240w

Extractor fan with carbon filter

Small fan for circulation

Thermometer and humidity meter

Panel heater (already served me well growing)

Air pump + air stone (ball type find them so much better than the disk and bars)

I will be getting more lights and upgrading various things soon as funds allow but for now this all I have to work with

If I've missed anything I will definitely need for this first budget grow feel free to tell me

Just a quick update the o7 organic turned up today quite surprised how effective it was I worked in 5ml increments, 15ml brought it from just above 7ph down to 5.5ph or there about in 15 litre res (full)

Turned the old led high bay panel on today to supplement the new led grow light with just the veg switch atm, although I am wondering whether to just use veg and bloom together for full power if anyone's got any input?

Also switched from 24/0 to 20/4 as not much seemed to be happening and 20/4 is what I used before.

Temps aren't bad around 25.5 degrees c, should come down a bit with winter fast approaching.

Hey b88

Welcome to The Forum and congratulations on starting your first Diary. Is that system of yours deep water culture? Or is it aeroponics? I'm not really familiar with the name.

As a Seedling I wouldn't bother giving much light but once it gets up into flower I would turn on veg and Bloom full blast. If you can give one plant about 300 actual watts LED can get some real good growth.

Thank you, it's as a dwc system, it's served me well tbf, extremely simple system so simple I didn't buy a second one I just made one [emoji23] it's basically a bucket lid and airstone.

Thanks for the advice I'll definitely be having both switches on then (just wasn't sure if having veg switch on would be a waste of it would be doing anything for the plant of you know what I mean, I'm sure I could of worded that better lol) I think I'll have around 300=400 watts in total the kingbo light is 600w but around 240w actual consumption I'm going to test the two lights together see what I'm pulling total at some point, see how close the 0.5 x wattage calculation is for my current setup.

Oh I get yuo, I used to do deep water culture that way just a five gallon bucket and a net pot on the top. I'd run my air line to the stone straight through the pebbles in the top. Then when I make up a new bucket of nutrients I just lift the plant up off the old bucket and plop it down on the new one.

Exactly right mate, saves damaging roots with the usual methods and make res changes easier and time isn't so crucial and gives me time to clean out the old bucket properly [emoji4] although I'm comfortable with dwc now after a year I still crave going back to good old soil but dwc is so forgiving I can go days even weeks without worrying of coming back to a dead plant if personal, work or family need my attention more but luckily I'm now in the position to spend more time with my plants, hence actually joining the forum now and getting more involved with my plants......wow sorry for the mini essay lol [emoji15]
