Blumats and megacrop ok together?

@BigSm0 would wrapping some black electrical tape around the clear sections help stop the algae growth since it wouldn't get the light.

Thanks like a ton @BigSmO. This is exactly the info I was looking for plus pro tips. And hey-that autocob I won on 4/20 is killing it. Your the man. No shipping charges just a pink po slip showed up at my door to pick up at the po. Which I was worried it might get stolen around these parts.....so very, very good looking. Meaning to put in a good word/shout out to you in the cust service/feedback section.
I'll invest a lot of time Into researching the blumats now that I know they work with my nute line. Heard theres 2 kinda the trompf and the regs. Ones gravity fed while the other is not. Any idea which ones would be best or what's the difference really?

The ones they call the Tropf-Blumat's are the gravity fed style. The others, which they're just calling Blumat have a hose that you kind of hang into a water bottle and then it uses a siphon suction to pull the water over. The biggest draw back to the "regulars" is that there is no adjustment for them, other than raising or lowering the water source to increase gravity pressure.

I picked up one of the regular style and it's been working well with a house plant, but if I was still growing cannabis I'd stick with the Tropf, adjustable style.

Non-tropf style:

I did this to my filter and it worked perfectly. Actually looked at that this morning again to brainstorm. I’m debating back and forth. Will it be enough to prevent the algae, how long will it stick for or do I just buy the new ones. For the love of Afn I am going to post a how to @D3ltå9Hævy if you have time to wait.

No problem. Please tag my forgetful ass. Just an afterthought, do you aerate your rez? I'm noticing seperation/suspended crap in my 3.5g buckets no aeration at 21c, after about 3 days. Also a cloudy blueish filmy tint on top. Theres usually not much left in the rez by the third day anyway, but if I run blumats I need to get this sorted

Someone mentioned black tape.....I have another suggestion...black pipe foam insulation...just cut to length to cover clear portions...cut a hole for the valve. You could easily cut a small enough hole and manipulate that valve knob through it and it will keep it in place , or just use zip tie to secure.

That’s a great idea as well
