Ok so here we First thing first is SAFTEY this shit is very dangerous you are dealing with highly explosive stuff so be extra cautious never purge your BHO inside it doesn't take much to ignite this stuff so always outside .
Now to make Budder you must start out with Bud . Leaf and trim just will not budder up you will get some good oil but i will not budder up i have tried a few diff strains and it just wouldn't do it also some statins even using bud would not Budder up vertigo would not this batch of diesel ryder was allot more whipping to get it to budder so certain strains are better then others .
Here is what you will need
Extractor- i just recently bought a glass one but when i was packing it up yesterday it rolled of the table and broke on the tile so i went back to my old turkey baster you can get them from bed bath and beyond for like 6 bucks .
Filter - i use a metal filter from a strainer and a coffee filter inside of that the reason for the metal filter is just incase pressure builds up in the extractor and you have a blow out with the metal on the it keeps from getting all that bud in your oil .
Pyrex dish - i use 2 one inside of the other with boiling water in the bottom one ...ALWAYS BOIL WATER AND BRING IT OUTSIDE DO NOT BOIL WATER NEAR YOUR WORK AREA .
BUTANE - I use Vector 5 times refined i wouldnt use anything else unless i had to i get mine at my local headshop .
Oven Mitt- The extractor is going to get ice cold so a glove or a rag will be needed
Weed - i Can seem to fit about 10 grams in a baster and it is very important that the bud is very dry not so dry to if you touch it turns to powder but you do not want any moisture in the weed i leave mine in a cardboard box over night open and by morning it seems to be prefect . Dried and cured weed taste better but i still leave it out overnight just to be sure .
I start out by breaking up my bud by hand or scissors i do not recommend using a grinder you do not want a bunch of plant material so just broken up buds not huge chunks but not a powder once again make sure its thoroughly dry .
Now you want to pack your extractor i used two just so i didn't have to pause and repack it but i used 20 Grams of bud , I can fit about 10 grams give or take into 1 baster and i use about 3/4 of a can of vector per extractor give or take ... you will see the butane run clear when its done . Now i pack it pretty tight you don't want any air gaps but not to tight .i fill it up about 1/2 way then pack it down with a pencil then fill the rest and pack down but make sure you can still blow through the extractor .
Now i get my water boiling and set everything up OUTSIDE . make sure you trim the coffee filter so there isn't a bunch hanging off it will collect allot of oil . Fill up your first pan with the boiling water and i set something underneath the second pan so its not floating in the water and splashing everywhere . Now on the turkey baster you might have to break the tip of the needle part so the butane tip fits in better . Oh and make sure the pyrex you are purging into is very clean wipe down with ISO . Now start by putting on your glove and i hold the extractor about an inch or two above the pyrex and start running the butane through it wil have a yellowish tint when it starts running really clear its done usually 3/4 of a can for 1 baster ..
Now it should be bubbling and you will be seeing the butane evaporating . I let it sit in the water bath till the water is cool then replace the water 3 or 4 times and cover with some paper towels so nothing blows in it .
Now while I'm waiting for the water to cool and the extractors are still cold i grab a few bubble bags and empty the extractors in them with some coins and lightly shake em out doesn't take much agitation at first while the buds still cold so remember if you shake to much it will be planty . Out of the 20 grams of diesel ryder i got back 1.3 grams of kief its going to mostly stalks without the heads but no waist
Now after you change the water out at least 3 times i just let it sit at least overnight but i like to let it sit for 24 hours then i start to collect the oil from the pyrex which is the worse part of this process in my opinion but i found a razor blade scrapper to make it a little easier on my fingers . If anyone has any tips or tricks i would love to hear them . I scrape everything up and into a little spice dish or you can use a small glass bowl make sure you get every little amount its like gold .
Then i use my coffee maker put the spice dish on the burner you can also use a heat matt or hot plate i have used a water bath but it cools a little to fast . let the oil melt down and grab a paperclip or something clean and start stirring the oil and you will start to see it turn a lighter color almost yellow .
Its ready to be whipped you want smoke a bowl and start hipping your ass off stir as fast as you can back and forth for a minute or so sometimes longer change direction with the way your stir frequently meaning stir really fast back and forth vertical for a few seconds then go back and forth horizontal .....Eventually it will start to just puff into a little ball of budder when it does just keep scrapping along the sides to get all the small pieces and you got yourself Budder !
So out of 20 grams of diesel ryder i got 2.2 grams of budder 1.3 grams of kief . its worth it in my opinion i am not smoking nearly as much as i was when i was smoking flowers and the high is allot clearer and last allot longer if i left anything out let me know . there are further purging process such as vacuum purging which i just recently started trying didn't do it with this run as i wanted to keep it simple but i rigged up a vacuum canister with my vacuum pump for a/c and i had some amazing results .i highly recommend if you can afford it to get a vacuum kit online for like 30 bucks
