New Grower can you LST autos?

Ive trimmed Autos as well as Photos.as we all know Photos can handle it FAR more than Autos can.imho, autos can handle it but ive gone the route of trimming two or three leaves every 4-6 days and it didnt seem to mess with the strain I tried it on at all.Photos, on the other hand can handle it much better.Ive stripped roughly 75% or more of a photo i did under CFL's and it worked great.I plan on trying it oudoors on one this year as well.I may play with an Auto just to understand it better.yet as you said the thought on this is split. But, as I we all understand, knowledge is power and whatever works for you,do it brother.Take from this what you will brother,I myself am still tinkering with this theory.be well my friend.:smokebuds:

I trimmed in the last 2weeks larger fan leaves minimal trimming and pull the branches down and out will help

I do a bit of leaf tucking, and plucking.
I won't recommend plucking to anyone but it works for me.
I only pull a leaf if it's REALLY in the way and generally huge.
Otherwise I just tuck it down.

Peace.

don't be scared or you won't cut enough to do any good ..remember it also increases root growth... you need to open it up so light gets all the way to the bottom of the plant and keep it that way if you truly want 'monster' plants...... a little known growers 'secret' shhh don't tell anyone let them think your not supposed cut autos.. they'll keep asking you how you get your grows so big tell them it's the molasses!

I trim after the fifth node hits in then it's every leaf that is two weeks or older or covering a bud ..leaf tucking doesn't do anything because you tuck it under something so it's not getting any light anyway wasting energy to keep the leaf alive so CUT IT!

i thought you would just tuck it so the buds can get the light, and i thought later on the buds take from the fan leaves so how is leaving the leaves on wasting energy?

not disagreeing with you man, personally i never tried trimming or tucking ive just let mine grow thats why im curious :smokebuds:

the buds will take through the buds and the food, after awhile the leafs just start blocking light from within the plant and the smaller bud sites so it just wasting energy that could be re-directed to more bud and root growth give it a try ..cut some leafs that are blocking some hidden bud sites you will see them come out almost immediately and the next day look out! go to my posts you'll see the results .(I could post a helpful picture but it's not my thread)

Oh it does do something. It puts less stress on the plant than steadily cutting leaves would.

I run Scrog and trim ALL the undergrowth at around day 50 so I can't say much, lol.
That's generally when I go and pull off all the bigger leaves that can't be tucked.
I just think taking em all of at once puts less stress on the plant than a continual type thing.

We've both got results to back up both sides though, lol. To each their own.

I think auto's are just getting bigger and better. They're more able to deal with the stress we put on them than say an oldschool lowrider would.

We've got out systems pretty dialed in and can read our plants pretty well. It gives us a definite edge.
I find auto's to be more fragile in Veg. I don't play with em much at all until they begin to flower.
I just wouldn't recommend it to someone starting out, or someone with a small plant.

Peace.

Some results.

they gotta try it sometime only way to find out .... I usually will cut apx 30% off per haircut (once a week) till I'm down to some basic leafs then let it ride and cut anything else that may block a bud site while 'all' the buds 'fatten' up... even the ones way down there (now that they're getting some light)

I often prefer to tuck myself too.i am only messing with trimming leaves since I have pretty weak CFL's is all.outside i will be trimming my photos hands down since they'll be outside.but ya Im kinda towards the tucking n basic LSTing yer ladies vs. slowing the growth since even two mid sized leaves will slow growth even slightly.imho, i think that been pretty much proven.:2cents:
