You will have to figure out the placement of your pots and then place the lights where they are the most effective in covering the tops of your plants

Mike, I don't understand this question at all. What is 6"" ? Feet, meters? Also, are you talking about CFL or florescent tubes? I don't see 3 or 4 CFL bulbs covering 12 - 10 liter buckets.

Ok 6' X 4.5'= 27 Sq feet

A good rule of thumb is 50 watts per Sq foot..

That would = 1350

you need at least 4x 300wtt. bulbs, 5 would be best .... to be honest at this point your better off with 2x 1000 watt HID and you'll probably save cash going the HID rout. and even with CFL's at that amount, heat is still gonna be an issue...

How about the bulb color? I figure that will make as much a difference as the spacing does.
