So, right now I have a 130 watt [actual 76 watt draw] ufo and I've been on a constant search to get something extra for when flowering time comes and as much searching as I've done, these seem to be the best bang for the buck dollar for watt. I'm guessing that they probably aren't 54w at the wall, but i can't find real draw numbers. I figured I would share with you guys because price/watt on these is pretty good even compared to High watt units. Plus they seem to have some decent reflectors. 20$ for 18 3 watt led's with reflectors? As far as cheap led's [under 40$?] go these are about the only ones that look like they are worth a damn. Any opinions?

His many plants are you growing?

I plan on 2 possibly 3 depending on what they end up looking like. I'm still in the process of sourcing all the materials. About half way there though. Doing soil.

With the light you have you can grow one. If you want to move up to 2-3 plants those little lights won't cut it. You will need another light like you have or like a Blackstar 130w ufo 90w actual draw I believe they run $120-140USD

I have the Apollo Horticulture 130 watt, 76 watt actual.

My thinking was if I really needed more than just a little bump in light....
If those e27 54w actually pull 30 watt's just over the 50% mark like most of them do THAN I could order 4 of those for the exact same price as the UFO 79.99 plus shipping and have 54 more watts actual for the same price. Plus my ufo doesn't have those nifty reflectors. I already have a power strip, and a good room fan plus some mini's. So, I guess I may just need to bight the bullet and try at least one out and then I could let you guys know.

Thinking about it though, I need to buy something if I wanted to attach more than 1 bulb. So, there's that.

I just started my second set of seeds. First round was under 26w CFL, good for the first week, after that not enough light. Looked into bigger CFL's, but went with the LED spot lights like the one in your post. I got the 45w (15-3w, 10 red, 5 blue) on fleabay, 18USD and change, delivered from china.
IDK actual draw, guessing 30w, if I'm lucky.
I'm using one light/plant, use them 3-4 weeks, then drop them under a HPS.
As a newb, I don't know any better, but so far the girls seem to have a much better growth structure with these than underpowered CFL's.
I'd guess the mars/blackstars are probably better for a whole grow, but for the price, these dont seem so shabby.
Best of luck to ya!

Thanks mate! See, that's what I'm talking about. So, I think I can comfortably rely on being able to get those as a last resort if/when my plants outgrow my light. Would be interested in knowing if anyone's hooked up an electronic thing that measures watts?

Bros, you got to think though... If you had three of those 54 watt bulbs it would cost 60$ shipped roughly and be 192 watts with reflectors. and people are paying way more than 60$ for a 180 watt bulb with reflectors. Right? I dunno, the more I think about these things the more I think other people would be having that ah-hah moment with them. Is there something I'm missing?
