Grow Mediums Coco 2 ways AK48 & Swiss Cheese

Happy AFNversary bro! Keep at em bro acting a lil funny but should grow out of it. Sucks breaking a stem when u trying to LST... tape works pretty good just remove it after a couple weeks to let the stem get thicker. ( I think im remembring that right..) one time LStd with some string and the stem grew over the string and ended up snapping lol taped it up all was good

Jay,
thanx fer reminding me of my AFNversary!!! Only took 2 days for the taped stem to heal...leaving tape on for a few more days...growth didn't miss a beat! Do YOU have anything currently going on? You and Roark were my sources of inspiration when I first started...

Just a little reminder for anyone who might run a hydroponic system:

The more water in your rez, the easier it is to control your pH. Let me be clear:
The more water in your rez, the easier it is to control your pH. In my experience (when mixing a fresh nutrient solution) the pH slowly begins to rise...for 12 to 24 hours...then it will begin to drop. There's no harm in letting the pH get up to 7.5, slowly. There's no harm in letting it SLOWLY drop as well...the roots will benefit from the full gamut of nutrient availability. This phenomenon is also an opportunity to add some of the more alkaline extras, such as SILICONE, to stabilize the pH. As long as it's dropping, add trace amounts of 'extras' instead of pH UP. You will be rewarded for your attention to detail!

I'm using 6 gallons total:
2 gallons in the rez where the roots reside
4 Gallons in the recirculating rez.
The solution is constantly moving and aerating at every opportunity
good to know eggs. thinking of giving coco a whirl ;)

Day 30: The cheese (drip coco) is finally feeling at home after a 'not so perfect' first 3 weeks...The AK48 just keeps plugging along...you'll notice trout sinkers and washers assisting with the LST. In a week or so, you'll seem 'em all over the girls! Also, note the stalk development in the hydro-drip compared to just coco. Every one of my hydro-drip gals has had a stalk AT LEAST 1/3 larger...

I never knew about taking off the tape, left mine on till today after snapping a lower stem on one of my girls. When I took it off I thought that I put it on there for show since there was no damage present. That tape has been on for 2 months maybe. Also wanted to say wow those stalks are fat for day 30, can't wait till I get the space to fiddle with drippers.

Kav, using hydro-drip is somewhat anti-climactic after hand watering for 3+ months! I check the tent temp, RH, Co2 and pH several times a day...rarely make an adjustment. Change solution in rez about every six or seven days (as per feeding schedule). This 'cheese girl' didn't take to constant feed like all the rest tho...
