Outdoor Copper mesh for slugs?

Hey man, never heard of copper doing anything for slugs but I really dunno. It sounds like a pot metal to me.A clean dry perimeter will make it difficult for them to pass.Spotlight and handpick at night.A thin layer of Lime,Diatomaceous earth,or salty beach sand 2-6 inches wide will create an impassable barrier. The lime is not thick enough to alter PH and will repel or dry disolve the pest.you can trap em too, but.hope this helps man.

ive heard of copper rings for around stalks working well not sure on mesh but if its 100% copper id guess itll work

Ive heard the copper thing, its suppose to be uncomfortable for the slug to be on hence it wont cross, something with electrical chrages if i recall correctly. And thin strip with in a ring (1/2" tall or so) is what i remeber seeing around the base of the stalk

I've read the copper thing too but I read that something in the slug's slime reacts with copper and burns the little bastards. I've never tried it, last year I took a little hand shovel and stabbed through a couple dozen of them a day for a while and all of sudden I rarely ever saw a slug again.

Ive been using copper tape stuck around my chilli pots for a few years, seems to work

Funnily my local news has just said we (UK) are going to be plagued this year with slugs :cuss:

That's what i've heard too, sort of causes a little electric shock to them. Anyway, since this stuff isn't pure copper i decided to look around locally and found some pure copper mesh. Thanks for your comments fellas.
