Would be cool that , I might try something similaur ,, but with basins ,, I got an idea of how I want it to work ,,it's getting the bits and pieces and preparing for it ,,, it gives me something to think about ,,, a micro plant a day harvest
If you set up an ebb n flow table with the cups on a 3" bed of clay pellets or lava rock you could certainly get mind blowing plants man...i used to run that type of setup(but with rockwool not solo cups) and i was pulling yields 20 years ago that would make most guys weep today.

well you can float them in a basin on foam board with holes, or you can control the water level in the table with a drain hole on the side and weight down the cups so they don't float.
In a one cup it became easier to pump the water in, and let it drain.
@hairyman I assume you looked through the solo cup thread, mine is ebb and flow. It would easily scale up, it was hard figuring out how to scale down to one cup though.
I ain't yet ,,, I try and find my own way through things a few times ,,then look up what I should do ,,, I working on the assumption I can only spend as little as possible

It ain't really crazy weights I going for ,,,will be happy with keeping them small,, I have a 4x2 space and converting a writing desk to hold the first 3 weeks worth, ain't going to be easy but possible for sure
My guess is you will want to use soil if you want them to stay small. So we are back to either a bottom feed/wicking scenario or drip lines. Both times I ebb and flowed a solo cup it got better than a square foot and about two feet high.
