Rough plan of action here is light a fire under them in aeroponics then stick them in soil before the roots get tangled together. Lights are 2x 600W dual spectrum HPS although 1 of them is down to 400W until I get a bit more extraction sorted and nutes are IONIC hydro grow which they will only get whilst in aeroponics and IONIC hydro bloom which they will only get for a few weeks once vertical growth slows.

I might have muddled up the root riot blocks but these are the only 3 strains in this batch so no biggie unless one of them doesn't make it I guess, and hopefully that isn't happening as a wee 12 hr soak in water then putting the seeds in root riot seems to work a treat.

I think this is the DDA fighting it's way out of it's shell....

Got them in net pots with some rockwool to hold them in place and shield them from the spray as much as possible so the root riot doesn't dissolve....

Feed is currently 0.3mS of IONIC grow @ pH 5.5.

And whilst evicting the previous tenant of one of the pots I found some worms wriggling about. Looks like they don't mind my hydro bloom nutes as they must have survived the last grow and either been in the soil when I bought it or found their way in when I had soil pots outside 2 years ago. Thought it was just some fungus gnats I had in there....which I sucked out of the sky with an extractor as they are weak fliers and that seemed enough to kick them into touch and any that hid on the soil got blasted with water spray. Well that and the spiders so I haven't seen many wee flying things.....got the usual house spiders in my attic and with the heat from the lights jumping spiders seem to like my grow room and there was a wee black money spider on the soil too which I guess got there the same way as the worms.

did you miss her cameo role in super mario :woody::woody::woody:
thats a 3 x dancin, yellow, cock out, space pig salute right there mate. growing the most evil b@5£8rd of all super mario games definately deserves it ! :worship:

Haha....Hopefully Bloody Skunk Auto will look something like that. It was the fat pink heads that drew me to that one so hopefully she'll try to eat me too:smoking:

Thought I'd do some shots of the aeroponics system so you can see how that works....and how much space it takes up!

The Sweet Seeds strains are on the left next to the bits I cut out the catalogue so I could keep track of them. The other plant in there is a couple of days older.

The huge res is still sitting at 0.3mS and pH 5.6 so since I put them in I've done nothing but watch them grow. I probably won't do anything tomorrow either.

The bit where the magic happens is the aeroponics chamber.....

The lid for my Amazon system has 8 holes for net pots but there are a bunch of different ones available....I got mine 2nd hand so I'm just using what I got but it's probably the one I'd have chosen anyway as the lids with less holes for net pots would give me less flexibility in positioning plants and the ones with more holes have smaller holes which I'm not sure look big enough for some of the stems I've seen on my plants.

Dark Devil Auto on the left seems to have 2 smaller tap roots....normally just see 1 at this stage but I dunno if that means anything.....maybe I damaged the root when I put the root riot in the net pot after germination?

Big lanky seedlings as the light is a bit far.....they are probably closer to the 600W than the 400W

Time is up for these ones in aeroponics and I've now got them transplanted into soil...

The Sweet Seeds strains are the 3 on the left of the above and all look fairly similar at this stage, both above and below ground.

Could probably have left then in aero for a few more days but didn't want to risk roots getting tangled together and becoming any more than a handful when transplanting.

Couple of weeks of just getting fed water now....or at least water and see what happens.

Wassup bro, Ive been lookin for a post like this!! I'm also interested in Aeroponics. I'm tryin to make sure I understand everything as much as possible. If its okay, I do have a question.........
In most cases I see seeds germinated then placed into cloners until their rooted, then moved to the Aero System of choice. Is this correct? Aeroponics has great advantages for plants but I DONT wanna have to buy a clone just to start my seeds..... Although I was directed to a useful way to transplant from soil without shocking your Autos-I want to start and finish my Auto Aeroponicly don't Any advice? TY in advance [HASHTAG]#WishfulThinking[/HASHTAG]

I think rockwool is the medium usually used in aeroponics. The root riot blocks I've been using to start seeds are not supposed to be suitable for aeroponics but the guys at the shop told me they worked OK if you pack rockwool round them.....they turn the nutrient solution a bit brown so could could mask other issues or make you think there is an issue. I couldn't get seeds started in rockwool this winter so I switched to root riot to compensate for grower error.

By the sounds of your research it suggests me just making it up as I go along wasn't that bad an idea! All I did was swap the 4" rockwool block I use in NFT for a net pot filled with rockwool croutons to use in aeroponics.....although according to the guys at my grow show the net pots can be also be used in NFT and filled with a variety of media such as expanded clay pebbles.

To pop my sees the root riot blocks were in an upside down food tub as it's better at maintaining humidity than the propagator I bought. These ones were germinated under a 600W dual spectrum HPS and as soon as they popped I put them in net pots and put them in my amazon aeroponics system.

The plastic food tub germinating the seeds can be seen at the bottom of the above pic.

@witchyhour @sanguine @Rifleman - can you guys offer @Midwest Med any advice based on your experiences and/or observations?
