My initial plan for a DIY PVC light fixture is as follows:
-Two PVC pipes held vertical/upright somehow (make bases/"feet"), placed on either end of my grow area.
-Two PVC Y's that fit over the vertical tubes.
-A PVC pipe "cross bar" that fits into the Y part of the Y's.
-All this will create a "H" structure over my grow area.
-Attach bulb fixtures on the cross bar along with a reflector.
The main thing I'm going for is height adjustment. As the plants grow, I can raise or lower the cross bar (and lights, of course) by moving the Y's on the vertical pipes and then somehow secure them in place (drill holes in vertical pipes, insert screws or pins, Y's will rest on that). If the plants grow a bunch outwards, I'd just need to add sections of PVC to the cross bar to space the whole thing outwards more.
Think this (my inspiration):
...but the up-down movement will be on the vertical struts themselves instead of a tow-line.
Thoughts!?
