Question: Is it better to top before or after sexing?

You definitly want to top before sexing. How do I know this, I am still dealing with topping some future mother plants before sexing. I won't make that mistake again, and hopefully you didn't top yours before you read this.
Just ended up flipping mine for a few days until they show, and then will re-veg.

I am running a bunch of BlackBerry Kushes right now. Just flipped them on Saturday so it will be a while, but can't wait to try it out.

Anyway, I am now subbed, and looking forward to all of your future projects.

In answer to your question, I'm topping before the flip. I did one a week into 12/12 and it almost stopped dead for about 10 days, the one's I've topped in veg didn't skip a beat. So I'd say do it before. I'm still a noob though so not really the sort of person you wanna take advice from lol. Just thought I'd throw up my experience

Good morning Everyone,

I thought I would update this morning.

Things that are new. I dropped some seeds that are local to the area we moved to this fall. Alsoi, like I said, I need a bbk male, so I dropped three of those. I also dropped three "XX" seeds



I put some of the veggers into the tent for sexing, I am gonna need three rounds to get them all done. Hopefully in about 30 days. I will have all the moms i need to get going.

These are the veggers, in the tent, on the counter, and under the EEK PRO 350



Amnesia Haze I am pretty sure she is gonna be a boy, lots of pollen will be used



These next pics are The Cotton Candy's not used for moms, and the auto's. I have a female and male Low Rider, and Jack Ass's (auto's) making seeds.



And Finally The Sweet N Lows are just days away from Chop



This is how I am keeping the seedlings warm.

Hello Everyone,

Okay after I posted yesterday, I went to tend the kids in the room. Here is what I found

Tent:
The veggers I put in the tent have already started to sex. I have a couple of females, and a couple of males that I may have to cull until thier pot-mate decides on thier own sex. If I am not going to seed something with that strain then the male will get pulled.

Outside:

I made a breeding box. We have these corner brackets, and poles leftover from an old gazebo we used to have, and the poles are four feet long, so I was able to configure a four by four foot box covered in clear 6mm plastic so the Amnesia Haze can shed pollen to any plant I put in the box, without fear of the pollen flyin' everywhere. I hope to buil another, for the Jack the Ripper Male as well.

Greenhouse I got a m/f lowrider in one bag, and a M/f Jack ass auto in one bag ready for seeding. This worked out perfect.

I am going to go ahead and cross the amnesia haze with the cotton candy, just for shit's and giggles, see what comes out.

The seeds I had in bags didn't come out, and I forgot to poke holes in the bag, and the towel stayed too wet.
I will retry again this morning.

The two Sweet N Lows got the chop last night. She is the sweetest smelling thing I have ever grown, even though the auto trait is not too solid. I wouldn't mind trying out some Sweet Tooth (parent strain), just to see how it tastes.

I am also going to cross a Cotton Candy to a Lowrider, and try to make something. "Sweet Chariot" LOL

So what do ya think?

Hi Everyone,

So it looks like California is finally going to get some rain. This means I have to re-winterize things. I have a heater in the greenhousse, but need to tape up the hole in the roof (3 inch tear).

The "Male box" I made needs to go somewhere for a few days till the sun comes out. At that time I will add a cotton candy to the male Amnesia Haze (yes confirmed).

The Auto's in the greenhouse are doing well, So far I have the Jack Ass Auto's on a faster pace than the LowRider. The JA's are sexing first. I pollenated a cotton candy with a Low Rider. Wish me well on my first auto adventure. I am getting good advice though.

The Sweet N Lows are hanging on day four, gettting ready for the trimmin'

The Mom's ( jack the ripper, Love Child (looks like an indica), Vendetta OG, Dynamite, and Black Powder Kush's are doing extremely well. Most are Quick to sex in the tent. only two weeks max so far for each one, on a revolving basis to sex. So of the 38 some odd plants, only nine bags/containers are left outside the tent vegging.

The three cotton candy Mom's and the Blackberry Kush mom are revegging really well. But now I have three more.

The only seeding I need to do this go round is Jack the ripper, and the Love child. Otherwise, depending on availability of room, I might do a cross or two.

Hello Everyone,

***UPDATE***

Well we finally are getting a day or two of rain here in north central california, or Mother Lode area.

I took a few pictures of just about everything. Everything is getting so big now, really bushing up. I got the Gorilla Stretch going on, and they are settling down on thier internode spacing.

Sexing is really excellerating. I do them in the tent under LED with 12/12 on Flower with the UV turned off.
I will probably be rotating five or so plants out of the tent, and a few more back in to sex.

In the greenhouse, Auto's are all sexing, most have turned. I got the Sex Box with the Amnesia haze in it and a cotton candy, and soon a lowrider and a jack the ripper.

Got a LR and a Jack Ass Auto pollenating for more seeds, indoors. seperate spaces.

Up until yesterday they were in the low 70's, inside temps are in the 80's due to the heater I have in there. So rain today, temps in the 60's, and inside 75 f

In the sex box it is about 78 right now, cuz the sun came out and is shinin' on the box. If I have to, I can move the box inside, which I will probably do overnight, cuz it is supposed to be cool the next day or so overnight.
