OK so where to start? I suppose the set up.

1 x cheap mylar lined tent
1 x ufo led (rated 135w, but apparently actually draws between 90-100w)
1 x 30 w 6500k cfl + 1 x 18 w 2500k

Soil / nutes I have biobizz all mix, and bio bloom. I'm happy enough with inducing early flowering so will only be using the bloom, but I think at about 2-3 weeks I will start giving it nutes, a very small amount of the bloom supplemented with a little urine for more nitrogen, yeah its nasty, but its natural enough :)

Things are looking a little rough at the mo, both seem to suffering and to me it looks like over watering. But I feel a little cheated there, as I only watered when transplanting from the little modular pots I germ in. Thought you had to water when transplanting?

The mini bud pic is a sneaky one I snipped of my mature blue mystic, I couldn't help my self. Sorry miss mystic, I knew it was naughty and your not ready. But no smoke and no money to buy smoke make owl a very dull boy :)

Um, can anyone help? I seem to of run into problems again.

So we've had a heat wave, or what we call so here, which basically sky rocketed temps in the tent and was stressing the seedlings. So I've taken them out and they are on the windowsill, enjoying natural light along with an anglepois (like pixar) giving them some extra 24hr. The t.d. has basically died, and I don't have much hope there. Main question is the mazar now has bugs, and I can't identify them. I'm fairly OK with this, have come across most pests in my vegetable garden, but I didn't see this before and I'm stumped. They are small, almost look like a speck of dirt, like a very fine splinter / piece of straw, yellow / brown colour. Absolutely tiny, almost microscopic. Taking a picture of them would be futile, but I have a picture of what I suppose is the damage they caused.

I think I have mostly wiped them all off with my figures now, but has anyone any idea what they are? I'd like to be able to identify them.

Im no veteran by any stretch of the imagination, and I grow in hydro... That being said, I had similar rust colored burning when my PH was alot lower than it should have been. Are you monitoring your PH?

I cant help with the pest situation.. Hopefully you dont have spider mites. I have heard great things about neem oil. It may be worth getting some to prevent pests

PH shouldn't be a problem. Biobizz soil supposedly you don't need to worry, starts at ph 6.4 and stays that way. So I haven't been checking, but it's only had bottled water, ph 6.4 at source, so seems unlikely. I saw the dam little things, so small its easy to miss, they've been there for a long time now hiding :)

The tips on the lower set of leaves looks like nutrient burn. I had that occur on one of my plants.

Spider mites are incredibly tiny, so hopefully its not those buggers!

Im sure somebody with more experience will chime in

That's the heat stress I mentioned, my tent was hot hot. Fixed now as they are downstairs on the window sill. I've seen spider mites, I have some on a berry bush, def not them. I may of seen these before, but no idea what they are really. It's that weird silver pattern on leaves.

I actually have a few very small areas that have similar damage. It just so happened to take place on the same part of a leaf where I had spilled PH down and burned it so I didn't think much of it. I wasn't exactly sure what the bugs were, and vaccuumed them up and havent seen them since...

After I did some research on them, I assumed they were "Thrips", which may be what you have. Those blotches must just be a high concentration of there bites.. Look up thrips and see if thats what you are experiencing.

Edit: After a little digging around out of curiosity im nearly certain that these are the culprit

Sorry for the late reply. Thanks a lot mate, spot on I think. I did try google searches but nothing was coming up, maybe better to describe the damage done rather than the bugs, really are very hard to see. Still spotting the odd one or two, damage is fairly minor but could get out of hand. So far I've tried a dilute soap solution, and rubbing them off with my finger, if I can find em.

Thanks, at least I know what I'm dealing with now. If I can might even try an catch one and get it under the microscope, check him out :) Will try and get a picture if I do.
