New Grower "First Grow: Afghan Kush Ryder"?

Hey brother... Well ive read through your thread and to me she looks fine, showing signs of cal/mag def now and a little stress... What size pot is she in and how often are you watering???

Hey NW,

She's in a 1 gallon pot and I've been watering by soil weight which ends up being every 4 or 5 days.
The burns and scarring were already there from where I had started nutes too early, but the yellowing is new, so that's why I'm concerned.

Cool bro thats what i think your yellowing is cal/mag def... Even though your soil has enough food and magnesium in it to last a few weeks, you have flushed a number of times and likely washed most of that away... On your next watering just give her cal/mag if you have it and then feed on your next.... Once she starts to feed you will notice that you have to water her more often..
Still only girl her 1/4 strength for now you can always add more if needed......:smokebuds:

Hi foig, glad to see Grow Northern came through for you, i've heard nothing but good things about them.

I've got a few AKR grows under my belt, i'm growing three at the moment under a 120W LED, check my current grow in my sig.

At 21 days they should be getting 2ml.L of water, they are fairly heavy feeders.

I'd also recommend some biosilicon at 0.25ml/L up until a couple of weeks into flowering, it's good stuff.

Thanks for the replies guys.
I do have a bottle of cal/mag that I will add to the next watering, and then I will start easing back into the feeding again on the following.
Here's what the GrowMore rep had to say about it here on the site:
"the one i recommend has 2% Mag, 3% cal, and 2.2% organic based nitrogen and i would use 5ml/gal during early flowering and then ramp it up as you get into flowering and increase the phosphorus used"
I'll give that a go and see if it helps.

The Yellow just looks like Nute splash..happens...I use foiler spray oc Epsom/molasses to give it a jump start..and give cal/mag every feed..Im under Led so I need a lil more then most .Usually when you over feed you will get tip burn..I feed normal..then push up nutes slowly till I get tip burn then I know what to feed the next week to keep it stable.:smokebuds:

Good eye on the cal-mag, I just got mine through a bout. These auto girls are a bit tricky, but very rewarding. I enjoy the problem solving, of course I think I would enjoy it more if the plants were not in peril....
Anyways she looks fine, nicely done man!!

So my GrowNorthern showed up with a $30 Bill from UPS.
This was never discussed and I was promised free shipping.
GN explained that this is an import fee that they were fully aware of.
They declined to comment as to why this info was never relayed to the customer.
I refused it at the door and am considering a chargeback through my bank.
Alternatively, I might still pick up the light and put my own brand on it.

Day 26

I guess it's hard to stay mad after seeing how nice the light is.
A bit quieter than I had anticipated as well.
Definitely need to upgrade to a 2'x2' space though because it turns my 12"x20" into an oven.
Anyway, things seem to be going downhill quickly for the ol' girl here.
She's thirsty again, so I'm getting ready to feed her the first round of nutes since I flushed her out.

Per gallon, I'm using:
Seagrow 16-16-16 @ 1/4 teaspoon
5ml mendocino cal/mag
PH'd to 6.3

Please let me know if there's anything else I can do to save her.
It looks like she's dying to me, but I'm still a newb, so who knows...

She is not dying bro, but from the looks of the soil it appears you are going too long in between feedings/waterings. Never ever ever let promix dry out. It will cause havoc on the ph. I have grown with promix from day one and always water a little earlier than suggested. If the top of the soil gets a crust, it is too long. Yes, it looks like she could use a feeding. Also, on your next grow, give her more soil in the container, that one is way too empty. A little more root space in there and she would have been bigger.

What are your temps in there? You said it was an oven? If it is above 85 or so, she will be transpiring too much to take up nutrients properly. You may need to add a small fan to draw some cool air through there.

Best of luck bro! Some grow karma sent your way.
