Indoor first grow journal [solarflare 200w - royal haze auto x2]

this will be my first grow journal.

• seeds: royal queen seeds haze auto
• soil: dr earth normal potting soil
• container: smartpot 5-gallon x2
• grow tent size: 36"x20"x60"
• light:solarflare 200w
• nutes: dr earth bud and bloom (only during flowering)
• bug spray: dr earth

other info

• i am using dr earth products, i haven't seen many people using them but i have had good experiences
• i WILL be adding some kessil h150 led lights, within a month
• seeds are germinating straight in the 5 gallon containers right now
• no ventilation. my last auto grow there was no smell. the tent is in the basement, hopefully it will stay cool.
• i plan to use LST on both plants

Sounds like its going to be a great ride! I call shot gun will be interested in seeing the Solar Flare, you got pics? I got a solar storm 400w, I'm liking it so far, with the exception it over heats and shuts off (kill switch) unless you keep a small fan blowing on the top of the unit. so far it is cool like 70-75f, i am planning to add a PC fan just in case.

one of the seedlings appears to be a mutant, or something along those lines, it may have split into two plants? here is a pic. http://img713.imageshack.us/img713/50/q55u.jpg

i will try to grow the mutant but it hasn't seemed to grow since yesterday while the normal one has. so i think it is dying/dead. in the tent i am replacing the seed with another of the same strain. one plant will be ~1 week ahead. that was a bad pic, you cant see how badly it is deformed. oh well


the other seed doesn't look good either. the first set of leaves is ok, but the next one that is growing looks a tiny bit deformed http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/8687/1twu.jpg(hard to see in the pic, but you can tell from the pic it isnt 100% healthy...). if there is a problem with these seeds, it is the breeders fault, i got them directly from them less than a month ago, and they were stored very well. any more problems and i will just pull these out and start over with better genetics, i have plenty to choose from... unfortunately no other autos with a sativa influence, except these. and i dont have enough time left to grow photos before i will move.

Breeders usually have a test they do on all seeds to check their germination rate's. Usually a seed that has been tested and failed doesnt make it into the packet. Maybe you did something wrong? I wouldnt go blaming others unless your 100% sure.

one of the seeds took over 5 days to show itself, in fact i had already tried to dig it up and had assumed it was dead and stopped watering the pot, but a few days later i saw it and it looks very health. i guess the seeds were just very dry and/or somewhat old (though i have germinated at least 30 seeds without these issues). i got a duct fan, 240 cfm, because temperature was an issue. now it is below 80 in the tent, 75-79 f. if you get this light, you will want a fan. i would welcome any advice on the lst... i am hoping for a huge growth spurt soon

Subbed! I run a solarstorm 400w that REQUIRES a fan blowing on it while in flowering mode or it overheats... Looking forward to watching this! :karma cloud:
