1 week later and I have to start the flush. My plants seem to be taking no nutrients in via roots. Leaves are just falling off. Fungus gnats still showing up...I am starting to think that my roots may be damaged from the larva. I have treated 3 times with mosquito dunks but these guys are serious. My buds look good would have liked to lasted longer. Even my short rider is suffering. I'm going to double flush tomorrow and go all water until the end which at the rate of decline I'm seeing will be about a week. Buds aren't growing much and trics are mostly cloudy. I'll get some good smoke...Ive quick dried a couple of small nugs and they are good enough and I know a good cure will make them better. I'll post some pics tomorrow of the beginning of the end.

Well the Blue Mystics are really starting to look tasty to me! Got my first trichome pictures with an $8.00 cell phone "microscope"...not too bad for the price. Leaves are starting to yellow on the plants some trichs looking clouding, maybe even a few amber! What I'm looking for out of a smoke is a bit of body stone, bit of cerebral. Don't want it to put me to sleep at all. So I'm thinking about 20% amber will be the right time to harvest for me...Anyway, I think the leaves will tell me like everyone says. BUT, I may go just a little early on one and a little later on the other to see what I like best since this is my first grow. How long you guys think? Can she possibly be ready in 3 weeks? The short rider is a week younger and not even close to where these girls are. However yellowing leaves hit her too in first couple of weeks of flower. After reading around, I think my problem with the leaves is the pot size and the girls are root bound as hell. I have 20+ inch plants in 1gallon pots! I have checked ph, given cal mag, some nitrogen supplements...just not enough soil left to hold any nutes! So the sooner the better for my friends. Thanks for stopping by! What's the rh in your drying space ? I use a Shell or Hot Shot 'No Pest Strip' for about a week during veg ... generally not during flower ... some say not to use them at all ... I don't have bug problems ... Used it in the last grow and it even moved the Chameleons out of the house .... probably from lack of food.

Blue mystic day 67, short rider day 60 - harvest in 10 days!

Ok folks, thanks for checking in! To answer some questions - the strain in #7 was the Short Rider I think I had some weird lighting. My pics from tonight seem more true to color. The RH in my drying space is calibrating now, I'll post back when the hygrometer settles. I'm expecting it to be in the 50-60% range. Temp is 72. I took out my actual microscope tonight and looked at the trichomes on a couple of trimmed bud leaves. They are about 70% cloudy 25% clear and 5% amber. I started the flush because as you will see in the pic, they want to be harvested whether I'm ready or not. I actually have some time to spare, my trip looks to be late august now, but this grow will be done by then no matter how patient I am. I can't believe it is only day 67 for the Blue Mystics and 60 for the short rider. I am hoping to get 10 more days but maybe not. It is what it is. I'm treating the plants with more mosquito dunks tomorrow, got some soaking now. Last 2 times I just crumbled them on top and maybe that was a mistake. Hoping that might halt the damage so I can get max days.

My buds, though...they look really good! One was broken off on a blue mystic tonight moving out of the cabinet. I trimmed it up and put it in a box with brown paper -- like Trap did for his cure! Looked easy enough for me not to mess up. My practice dry and cure bud! I consider the lego shot my first personal bud porn! Enjoy!

RH currently is 66%! Higher than I expected in an air conditioned house. Is that decent for the drying space?

Fantastic looking Buds SB ... 66% is high in an air conditioned space ... how much do you trust your hygrometer ? 66% is a good drying humidity if you watch out for mold ...

What would be the optimum humidity level for drying? I can possibly raise or lower it with humidifier or dehumidifier. Humidity outside is 50%. right now i've moved my hygrometer away from the box and it is 50%.

Optimum humidity drying would be 50-60% over 60 is OK but closer to 70% your run height risk of mold. How consistant is your humidity? that will play a huge role in how well your buds dry. I would recommend tracking the HR for a couple days see if you'll need a humidifier or dehumidifier I would only buy one if you cant get the room to stay within 5- 10% each day.

The sr smell is a bit on the skunk side but.not top strong really. With an exhaust to outdoors no odor at all inside. Also have an ono bucket with fan that has exhausted air smelling sweet.
