Hi everyone, I've been trying to germinate a seed using my normal method of using a rapid rooter. I'm about to put it in a paper towel and let it warm up. I hate that method andni dont think it will work. Tried scarification so that hopefully helps. It's the hijack freebie fwtw. But my other one got literally lost so I am on my only bean :( I wanna try it but wont be able to hold the space for longer than a few more days before I have to plant something else

I would highly reccomend soaking seed 12 to 24 hours prior to any germination method you choose to use.
Ive heard anything over 14 to 18 hours and you risk essentially drowning them. I don’t know I’m am no expert by any means. I’ve never soak my seeds only ever done paper towel method with photos and never had an issue.

I try to keep it as natural as possible. I dont put them in water but the rapid rooter is constantly kept wet which is simulating a rainy period encouraging it to grow. But I might have to try that too. I'm willing to try anything

That's always been kinda my theory. Too much will drown or stunt the plants. I've done all kinds of methods but rapid rooters are easiest

A drop of hydrogen peroxide in the water is supposed to work but I have never done this. I add 1/4 of a dispersible/dissolvable aspirin in water and add that to paper towel. Works a treat for me.

My preferred method is from the pack to moist, not soaked, coco. Lightest feed that bottles suggest. Enough oxygen there. "Red Diesel, rise up" my current mantra. Should pop up this weekend.

I've germinated 1000s of seeds and grown 1000s of plants. They dont always pop on time some that I've done Naturally by planting them in the garden like we would do back in the day. when we were hunter gathers before germination was known.
The seed took as long as two years to pop on their own ( I seen it. Ask me ) and some don't pop at all and are just Duds.

Soaking your seeds is recommended for 24 hours prior to germination and then to the paper towel or to your root Riot plug or Pete cup or Solo Cup with dirt or your favorite medium.
You don't risk drowning them it's completely natural.
If by chance you dont think it's natural??
Then think of it this way.
If it's a rainy wet Spring there's a lot of water sitting on the ground. The seed flooding in a mud puddle or maybe at the bottum before the seed cracks open and germinates.
It's completely natural.
Just my experience take it or leave.[emoji28] it only $0.02[emoji482][emoji111]

24 hr soak will not drown the seeds but we wouldn't recommend going too far past that point. HiJack is sativa dominant and they can tend to have slightly tougher shells. If you still have it. let it get cold in the refrigerator then give it another try in whatever method you like but have it much warmer than normal room temperature like 30 degrees C. Make the seed think it is in the tropics.
