So I've had a relatively decent thread going in the New Grower's Forum, and figured I'm still a new grower, but I've learned a lot.. I just wish I could put the knowledge into motion like a lot of you guys.. Anyway, right now, I've got a triplet of Auto Candy Kush growing. They were doing killer up until I let the airpot dry out a little too far, and now I've got pH swings, which I think I've got resolved.. However, it looks as though my larger of the 3 plants is now suffering a type of deficiency which I don't believe is pH related, rather, an insufficient amount of supersoil..

So to give you the layout:

2x MarsII 400w Equivalent LED panels
Home Depot "tool shed" that I converted to be sorta stealth.. Isn't really..
Roots Organic as a base soil
Subcool's supersoil (at roughly 25-35% of pot volume)
Hopes and dreams
And as of yesterday, running 2 inline fans, 1 is a 6" 440cfm at full blast and the 2nd is a 4" 180cfm, both with carbon scrubbers

On the odd weeks, I use a version of the Heisenberg tea (Great White, molasses, Ancient Forest, Hydroguard), and the even weeks, I use a product by Botanicare called Pure Blend Tea.. Stuff was cheap, and haven't had any issues yet, and this is my 2nd organic grow..

Of course, the mechanics are always something to be desired, as I'm able to grow veggies like a bat outta hell; cannabis?? Now that's another story.. Sure, I can make some turds by eating food, but the true test, is can I get the consistency and quality that I'm searching for..

Here are some shitty cell phone pics (anyone who has followed my New Grower's thread will know that I specialize in the shittiest of cell phone pics), to give you an idea of what I'm facing.. All 3 of the plants are in different shapes and sized pots.. 1 is a 4.5gal square window planter, 1 is an 18ltr nursery pot and the other is a 5gal equiv. airpot.. And strangely enough, I managed to get 3 almost completely different phenos.. Who woulda thought??

Onto the shitty pics!!! Any comments, suggestions, lessons-learned, advice, banter, pandering, slander and otherwise nastiness is all accepted, so let 'er rip!!

How old is the one showing the deficiency ... looks like end of life fan leaf cannibalization ... if it's less than 7 weeks I'd suggest a little extra 'N' ... but I have a tough time w/ diagnosing deficiencies ...

Chester!! Thanks for stopping in!!! I was hoping it wasn't end of life, mostly because the buds are still pretty small with quite a few white pistils, but you may be right, since I started them back at the end of June.. They're at least 8 weeks old, and I was hoping to get another 2 weeks out of them, and the biggest one literally looks like it could go another 3-4 weeks based off of past grows, however I do have some light feed I could use.. I knew I should've tried to find a larger pot for that one as it's the smallest of the containers.. I may throw this organic top dressing in that I've had for a little while that I used on the veggies.. I think it's a 2-10-5 mix, so it's more P than anything else, but it has a bunch of micros in it.. I'd probably throw in a small dose of it to start.. I had considered skipping the teas this week and just using straight tap water.. I did spray the most deficient one with some epsom salts/water at lights-on last week to no avail.. No additional burning or issues, and I almost feel like it slowed it down a little, but I don't feel like throwing too much more into the pots with the supersoil in there as I don't want to scorch them before the end of life..

I kinda feel like you're onto something though, and I hope I didn't screw myself by letting them dry out a little too much..

Running dry is hard on a plant and creates all sorts of deficiencies ... I've got a grow going right now I'd be embarrassed to post a picture of ... 15 days and it looks like a week ... it must be the heat or my LED has crapped out ...

I'm in upstate NY for an unexpected 4-6 weeks ... plant sprouted on 8/8 and the temps have been brutal (mid 90's) and I've been too busy to give it any attention ...

I think it's slow growth is caused by several factors ... Heat, lack of fresh air, soil possibly too wet in the pot, I think the light may have crapped out ... it reminds me of the smaller Walter Whites from my previous grow so there is a small possibility it's the seed ... I told my friend it was gonna be a spectacular plant and it sure isn't ... there is a small chance that the soil was too hot but it was Happy Frog cut w/ Perlite so that should not be it ... I gave it 1/2 a soil tab nearly a week ago w/ no response ... I don't recall that ever happening before ...

Wait, are you referring to the UFO?? For some reason I thought you had that and another light.. Maybe you got some bunk seeds?? Regardless, the way I see it, you've always pulled some extremely impressive plants and from what I've been told, you can't win them all.. I'm still waiting for that win!!!! lol

My friend is using an Extreme Flower 180 which is an older light that should be putting out about 180 watts ... his last couple grows have been unimpressive ... I don't recall when he started using the light but I do know the slow grows coincided w/ his using a tent so it may be too hot or not enough air flow ... this plant got almost none of my attention and I have no doubt that the temp in the tent has been high ...

Is he not using any type of positive/negative air flow, even without a scrubber?? I figured even a small clip fan aimed at one of the vent holes could be enough to move some air out of the tent and create a little bit of a vortex..

Regardless, my plants aren't recovering well, and I was going to go get a pH pen to replace my decent one that is junk now (solution was dried up in the cap, so the probe won't calibrate), however the wife had me moving shit outside for the trash pickup on Monday since I'm traveling this weekend.. I need to get a solution quick because these plants are literally at the cusp of being finished but if I don't get this deficiency addressed ASAP, I feel like I'm gonna have an absolutely shitty yield, when the potential was so high!!!

So I ordered 25lbs of Kind Soil, which I will be promptly trying after this grow, and instead of dropping 3 different seeds, I'm gonna do a side-by-side with the subcool supersoil and the Kind Soil, and treat them identically even down to the pot size and such.. I may only grow 2, but possibly throw a 3rd bean in there for variety.. I got a bunch of freebies from Herbies last time I ordered, so I may try one of the Pakistani "whatevers" (can't remember the full name, but I think it's Valley), just to see how it grows..

So the first of the Candy Kush has been chopped.. Somewhat disappointing, as it looks like MAYBE an oz when it's all said and done, so I've destined this one for the oil pit.. Gonna dry her and probably not even cure it that much; just grind and dunk into Everclear.. I am gonna probably save a few buds to dry and cure properly, just to see how it smokes.. Different pheno and small issues with letting the pot dry out too much leads to a shitty yield.. Oh well.. The next one will be coming down probably by Sunday/Monday and the big plant looks like it'll go at least another week.. Hopefully, the next 2 yield a bit better..

I FINALLY dropped beans.. 1 DP Blueberry, 1 Dinafem Sour D and 1 Heavyweight Fruit Punch.. Hopefully we'll have a nice fruity garden in the coming weeks!!
