What are everyone's thoughts on fox farms ocean forest? That's what my local hydro shop has soil wise right now. I may go on a nursery hunt tomorrow for pro mix not to sure. Wanted to get some opinions

Hey m! ocean forest is hot and needs to be cut with some light warrior or some not so hot soil. Pro mix is a great medium and runs a PH of about 7 right out of the bag. Promix HP for led and BX for HPS/MH due to light temps. On the pro mix side of things, feed at 6.2 PH and you will be golden. ocean Forest is a great medium, but it will burn he babies!!

So would it be safe to say start them in light warrior then transplant into ocean forest? I am going to be using the FULL line of nutes since I have an abundance of it from my photo outdoor grows. I've just never started from seed, always been clones/teens.

Also, start with one plant. Not saying you will kill it, but you
will make nonlethal mistakes, I do often enough, I goofed just a week ago.

But I can offer you a compromise you are gonna love. A self-watering pot.
The trick is to slowly increase the amount of water you give it until the soil is
saturated and the reservoir is full. My tent gets hot, and I got to the point where I was doing that for a couple days, and then let it go without for a day.

Hey and Welcome!
Ocean Forest is too hot for seedlings, for sure. What some folks do is hollow out a grapefruit size hole in the OF and fill with promix of light warrior. This way the seedling does not get into the heavily amended soil until it has grown a bit. Also there is tiered, were you start with smaller container. like a red cup, and after a bit cut out the bottom and plant cup and all into the top of the permanent home. IOW autos don't like to be transplanted.

Soil all the way for the first indoor in my opinion dwc everthing has to be dialed in on water ph nutes etc.
