Dropped my lights down a bit as well earlier.... About 32" above now.... L8rs peeps..

Howdy folks...

Ok then, day 8...

I've been very busy the last few days with one thing & another, but quite a bit has happened since I last checked in.... Not all good either :(

So my strongest baby now has got something wrong with it & has been totally overshadowed by the one that popped up last. I'm hoping someone can give me an answer as to what's up with it... My guess is ph imbalance, the ph in my res's fluctuates quite wildly as it warms the tent after a change. I think I'll have my water in the tent warming as it bubbles in prep for the next change.

Pics of plant that's now lagging, from the past day or two...

Also today the plant with the leaves that are showing damage are now today almost pointing straight up?? What's all that about?? Maybe it was a touch warm in there today...
Today's pics....

Is that my temps today or do you think it is something else folks, please help...

Here's some of today's pics of the healthier one...

As you can see it has a little touch of damage as well but nowhere near as bad... It starts out looking like a shiny darker green patch & then slowly turns copper.

Tell me what I'm doing wrong guys please... Oh new growth looks ok at the mo but has REALLY slowed since yesterday. (on the bad one)

Res's were set at 1.0 EC & 5.8ph which has risen twice so far but I'd say it should settle now.
The better looking plant EC has dropped from 1.0 to 0.9 EC?.

Both plants have roots in the res as well..

The ol' ph swing. Definitely looks like that to me. Would be easier to see in regular light though. The leave curl could also be linked to the ph swings. And I am assuming the the EC dropped because it is uptaking those nutrients.

Thanks Squid... That what I was thinking, I'll def have to let my solution get a bit warmer before setting the ph in future... Another lesson learned :)

in hydro try to stay around 60-65 degrees with your water... too high can cause root rot etc etc problems.... and too cold introduction definetly shocks them a bit... in the pics it looks like potassium / and magnesium deficiency to me.... ph sounds fine for hydro.... i dont see the issue in the new leaves too bad yet tho.... keep your EC on point at say .9 if thats what seems ok for them... maybe someone more experienced with hydro can chime in on a better target EC for you... i'd say give like 1/2 tsp epsom salts in your next res change along with your nutes... anbd I'm not sure what nute line you're running but sounds shy in Potassium / magnesium unless your res has just been too high a ph...

hope this helps... :smokeit:

Im subbed for your gro bro.....cant wait to see those babies in bloom!!!off to a great start:peace:

Yo JM, thanks for the input sir....

Yeah I'm def thinking its the swing in ph that happens as it the cold fresh res warms in the tent dude. I'm a noob so I don't know for sure but that's what my gut is telling me.

My res temps are a bit high but don't take any notice of that aquarium thermometer in those photos, they are reading at least 2c higher than what it is in there... according to my bluelab anyway.

I'm not too sure how to keep my temps down in my res coz I have too have a radiator on inside my tent.... I'm I gonna have to ph some water & then make ice cubes with it?

What does Epsom salts give to the mix? I've got sensical grow/bloom for cal/mag defincies (due to the rumblings on AFN about LED grows) but as this is my first grow I want to keep it as simple as poss until I get to grips with this caper, so that means little to no additives, I'll ride it out for a while & hope things get better.

The babies are on formulex... for another week anyway & rhizotonic root stim @ 1.0ec.

Any advice welcome peeps :toke:
