Outdoor How do I get rid of Spider Mites???

Anyone that could give me some info would be much apreciated.
My ladies are in the final stages of blooming and one of them i saw a small spider crawl across the top flower while i was inspecting the trichs.
I've heard of encouraging lady flowers but how do you do that.
Are there organic products i can get?

Hey Cali...first off, are you sure it was a spider mite you saw? There would be other signs of spider mite infestation, such as tiny white eggs on the underside of leaves and some very fine spider webs. I've seen lots of crawlies in my flowers; most are just passing through.

You don't want to be spraying anything on buds, organic or not, as it will be difficult to avoid smoking the residue. Is this an indoor or outdoor grow? More details please.

It's an enclosed balcony with glass with a vent system at the top allowing fresh air to always come in.

I just looked again in the sun and they are definitely spider mytes! They appear like just black dots with only 100% reading glasses but add a couple of magnifying loops together and you see some crawling around. I've found them on three out of the five plants that I have.

Simple mistake, yup i meant lady bugs!

Plus i heard of other mytes that eat the spider mytes. But i heard they are exspensive!

Hi Cali...a photo would help. Top and underside of a leaf showing signs of infestation, closeup if possible.

Is there any sign of tiny spider webs on the plant? Also, how old are the ladies, and how long till you harvest?

The reason I'm not convinced it's spider mites is that an AutoBlueberry I've just harvested was infested with some kind of white fly. On the top of the leaf it looks almost dusty, with fine white specks; underneath the leaf there are quite a large number of black dots that look like beetles in the magnifying loupe.

It's definately spiders!
Spint is needed from Bayer gardens but did not get to it yesterday and woke up this sunday morning to see that on the NL two of the big fan leafs are dying! I've seen them with 100% reading glasses and two other loops to be able to see them. On the one autoberry that is close to harvest I found 1 web on the lower branch and I saw a spider crawl over the top nug while inspecting the trichs.
I am not capable of shooting a pic that close to see them with my camera but i know for fact that its them so tomorrow when the stores are all open again here in Holland I will get it at one of the places listed to carry them. It supposed to be real easy! You spray it down and it's supposedly all gone the next day. They do tell you to repeat but that's probably for any eggs that might have slipped through the first time and end up hatching or something like that.
I also had thought of the ladybugs but they need to be in a consistant warm erea for several days and I can not predict that the weather includuing the nights will be over the needed 15 degrees.
So Spint from Bayer or also known as Masai. Cant find it on line without having to spend 20 euros for delivery so 2mar i might have to bike to the other side of the city or even to another. We shall see.

you could ask them nicely to leave , that works about as well as "most" comercial sprays , and i wouldnt be spraying them with ANYTHING once in flowering and especially nearing the end

the pest strips work very well , however they are only potent for the first couple days , so require opening a second one after 3 days , and to be safe and getting the newly hatched eggs id open a 3rd one 3 more days later

i battled mites for well over a year and once full blown infected NOTHING chemical or natural would get rid of them , all i could do is keep knocking their numbers down so crops could finish , that is untill i got the pest strips to kill house flies , i couldnt believe it , opened one then another 4 or 5 days later , a week or so went by and i was scratching my head and saying "hmmmm where did the mites go" ?

Thanks for the tip, b0b...I'll try that. :thumbs: Pests are a real problem in my part of the world, especially mites.
