Harvest & Curing how long sould i leave seeds b4 germing

high peeps. i was just wondering how long i should leave my seeds before i germinate them. i harvested them on 26th december.i ask because i think that in the wild when the seeds drop they must go a whole year until the start of the growing cycle. i have over 200 seeds that i [made] this is a mix of a purple strain and a white dwarf. this is my first time with breeding. i tried to germ 4 about a week after harvest with no sucsess.i have just put another 2 in to germ today and my fingers are crossed. could it be that these stains aint compatible? any feedback to ease my mind.

Many harvest seeds too early and they finish ripening and drying off the vine. You should now try a viability test to see how fertile your seeds are now, at the start of their shelf life. Take the worst looking seeds of the bunch 10, 15 of the doggiest looking ones and give them a test-if you end up with too many little plants well worst things could of happened.

If you'v left them out to dry since dec. you should be good might try putting them in the freezer for a week or so then put some to germ .....keep your temps up to 85 or so and see what happen's.

A cannabis seed may be frozen only once didn't know if you knew that or not

mine stay frozen from the time i get them.....till the time i germinate....and i havn't had any problem's....some times freezing helps fool them into thinking they'v gone through the seasons and it's time to go.

thanks for that info if these 2 fail ill give that a go and try again theres enuff there for a few fails this was just a little test just to see if i could do it.

I do the exact same thing goauto...not always the freezer, but the fridge...

Then make sure my temps are around 80 when I germ...:thumbs:

Hazy daze i harvested seeds on the exact day you did,i seperated the strains and put them in bowls in the cupboard up until 3 days ago to dry. I planted 20 of each the other day and stuck the rest in the fridge for storage.Strain one so far has popped 8/20 and strain 2 has gone 14/20,i'm sure there will be slow pokes as i didn't soak them,just a direct sow.I think you'll be fine.
