Lighting i have mogul base questions...125 watt/65/watt...

okay I bought a 125 watt cfl with wing reflector...I don't wana run 125 watts anymore so I went to lowes and bought a 65 watt cfl screwed it in n it didn't do anything...put the 125 back in and let there be light....so I go to lowes and switch it out,come back home,and still nothing...is my reflector too powerful or something???

Your mogul base isn't the same size. The 65W is an E40 base and the 125W is an E39 base. There is very little difference between the two from looking at them and they are generally interchangeable but I have run across some that have slightly shorter contacts on the bottom of the bulb and will not reach the terminal in the socket.

thank u 1000 times....guess its time to search for an e40 base I really want that 65 watt...
