I have searched the forums and found a few odd scattered threads about the use of Induction Lights for growing MMJ.

These are the main ones:

https://www.autoflower.org/f25/inda-gro-400w-pro-induction-light-17521.html

https://www.autoflower.org/f43/i-am...-else-using-these-induction-lights-17075.html

https://www.autoflower.org/f43/induction-lighting-16519.html

https://www.autoflower.org/f25/igrow-induction-lights-13899.html

https://www.autoflower.org/f43/induction-lighting-14271.html

So far the TWo main competitiors are:
1- Inda-Gro
2- Igrow

Both are very expensive and seem to offer the same technology.

I have been talking to SCARHOLE since he has a grow here using induction lights from China.
They are from a company called Riant Lighting and they seem to be pretty knowledgeable about induction lights.

They have custom made a spectrum for their lights and i believe that SCARHOLE helped them with fine tuning the spectrum. Check out Spectrum D for their latest offering.

This is a picture of their hood

On talking with Scarhole it seems that a better one could be made for cheaper or just use an adjusta-wing reflector.

I am at the stage of looking at various suppliers and evaluating their spectrums.
As i gain more info i will post it up here.

What i am ultimately thinking of doing is using 2 to 3 of these lights with my BSLED panels. This means i can hang the induction lights and the LED's permanently and not have to worry about light moves etc as the coverage will be good.

Anyone with info is welcome to post in this thread!!

Finally had a response from a Chinese supplier of grow Induction lamps!

Their minimum quantity order is 3 lamps which comes to $642 shipped to my door.
This does NOT include any reflectors.

They are 400W Induction grow lights with a "Special Spectrum" that i need to look into and compare to some other models.
This would add 1200Watts more growing power to my room!!!
Add the LED's at 280Watts each and we come up to 1760Watts!!
That should make for a nice growing environment!!!

I have included their documentation for everyone's perusal!!

:peace:

Forgot to add that the first units price was $450 for ONE light INCLUDING the reflector shipped to my door.

The second set is for THREE lights NO reflector shipped to my door.

I have seen some grows done without name brand reflectors, just a sheet of polished aluminum and they seem to work well.

Nice one mate  how many watts for $450 bro? :smokebuds: sweet thread and subbed in :five:
Edit..I see now mate 400w.

Sorry, the $450 was for ONE 400Watt light plus reflector.
The cost for just the lamp and ballast is $385.
Shipping is included in those prices.

Sup y'all

My Riant reflector looks different than that one pictured above?
Is that yours lazy lathe?

China makes almost all induction lights
The USA induction lights should be labeled "assembled in America".
For example FJJK makes IndaGro.
The borosilicate glass bulbs, magnets, wires ballest/ ballest components and warrenty look exacly like the Chinese ones to me.
Im also very doubtfull they Handell the filling with phosphor, flourine or mercury and sealing in the USA?

Somthing that bugs me about current induction light.
I also see lots of folks on the net credit Tesla for this light to sucker folks in..
Tesla did not invent the induction any more than Edison invented light bulbs.

"1884 Johann Wilhelm Hittorf of munster germany discovers the electrodeless discharge lamp. Hittorf is also known for the discovery of the cathode-ray tube in 1869

1880s J. J. Thomson thoroughly studies the phenomena of the electrodeless discharge lamp after initial discovery by Johann Wilhelm Hittorf (1884). Thomson like Hittorf is an established physicist. Cambridge, England

1893 Nikola Tesla first demonstrates his electrodeless lamp at the 1893 World Columbian Exposition in Chicago. His lamp looked like a large lightbulb and had strange greenish phosphors. His lamp was powered by the electromagnetic field of a nearby large "Tesla Coil". Tesla brought the lamp into the public eye and further improved the lamp. The industrialist later sued academian J.J. Thomson in order to secure rights to try to make money from it. A practical consumer lamp was never developed.

1904 Peter Cooper Hewitt developed an induction lamp that used mercury vapor (like today's lamps). He already had expertise as the inventor of the first commercial mercury vapor lamps. He worked on induction lamps with a sphere shape and double sphere shape, with external induction coils wrapped around the sphere or "waist" of the double sphere. PC Hewitt also developed internal induction lamps. General Electric, New York, NY"

Even though Hewitt is credited for the modern mercury induction.
It's certiian Charles Prometheus Stienmetz who also worked for GE helped considerably since he invented AC induction dynamos, and the induction furnace.
He was one of the greatest electrical minds ever.

Hey Scarhole,

I have not jumped in and bought any lights yet.
The reflector in post #1 was a picture RIANT sent to me when i asked what their reflector looked like.
Do you have a picture of your handy to compare to?

I need to compare the RIANT spectrum to the latest one and see what the differences are.
I quite like 3 400Watt bulbs for $642!

If your shopping for a Indiuction flouro lazy lathe, Here's what I'd check out....

Reflector mateial i been looking at.

Riant - they are my company of choice.
368$ for a 400w grow light with no reflector.
Great ballest design!
5 yr warrenty , witch they honnored for me when my first one failed.

Next is "best in green solutions "4oow 5000k induction light,
Don't know how good there ballasts are, just plain white flouro,or how good they are with warranty.
But the price is nice 289 + 50? shipping, spectra and USA shop for exchanges is nice.

Third I'd look @ allibabba LVD 300w inductions.
http://m.aliexpress.com/item/529225974.html?tracelog=wwwdetail2mobilesitedetail
LVD operate on 60hrtz stead of 250mhz (like standard flouro)
200$ each free shipping.
Are much simpler, 5000k white spectra, but only last half as long, 50,000 hrs as opposed to 100,000 hrs of high frequency induction.
