soils have been very bad these days, inconsistent quality, often with really low pH's showing,... I'm talking low 5's!

Instant problems, basically,... as for why this one stunted out so badly, it's a long list of possibles, and w/o any grow info, I can't be specific as to why,... It's true, you need to start off with very mild nute's with auto's, which show wide tolerance levels for them, strain related, soil related (how hot it is), but the trend is auto's are usually sensitive... this is why you start with about 1/4 strength , depending on the N-P-K #'s,... from there, you ramp up levels gradually, but going too light will limit their size, and there's no time to make up for it like with photo's,... when you start your new journal, post up the details of you nute's, soil, water sources, supplements, and we can help get you started on a feed program compatible with what you're using,... transplanting itself isn't bad, it knowing when to do it, and causing absolutely no trauma during it! For example, Sweet and Mephisto do transplanting all the time, with no ill effects,... there's a definite technique and timing involved,... Most folks however, plant into final pots to eliminate potential troubles with this! When doing so, if youi use a hotter soil, like OF, it's best to dig out about a 1qt pocket of soil (deep and narrow-ish), and fill it with milder stuff , or cut the OF with a seedling mix, 50/50,....
