Ran a personal experiment with the new Marshydro - Mars SP 200 last couple days.
I wanted to see what kind of heat increase I was going to be dealing with.
I have a 2x4x5 tent with an 8" exhaust fan with carbon filter on outside tent running to roof vent . Before the experiment , the tent homed 4 autocobs , along with one 12" circulation fan and one 6 in fan, One high, one low.
The tent with the autocobs would run around 77-80f 24hrs. With exhaust fan adjust to 1/4 power. Ambient temp of room where tent is located dictated on house temp. usually around 68-72 during winter.
I placed the Mars SP-200 next to autocobs , so it was about 4" of center. Ran ALL lights for 6 hours. Beginning temp 78f . At the end of 6 hours , tent temp. was 92f
A little to much for me, however I noticed my fan was not blowing across the Mars, so I adjusted fan to blow across top of fins and driver. Also , I bumped up the power to exhaust fan to 1/2 power. The temp. after a few hours dropped to 86f
I then shut off one autocob off every 4 hours...temp would drop merely one degree fahrenheit. I have let it run for 48 hours and temps. have stayed between 78-82f..depending on outside tent conditions.
I then turned on two autocobs in center of tent..of course temps rose slightly...so adjust exhuast to 3/4 power to get temps back down to 78-82f
The tent temp is running stable , with a few adjustments. Only thing I do not like, but can get used to , is that I had to turn up the exhaust fan, which is causing a little more fan noise, but after awhile you dont notice it unless you focus on it.
and after all that...I still dont know if I want to run them through the whole grow at this time. Love my autocobs , but..I defiantly will use these lights in the real near future!
