I have killed many seedlings so now it's time for some revival and bringing their soul back and enhancing my new grow! I have gotten a new soil which is 'lighter' so hopefully there will be no more fussy root growth but just pure speed flashing through the soil. (Yeah full of shit, just gotta make this journal more interesting.)

Grow medium - JIFFY Tref Go Bio 4 (I mentioned some details of this soil on my previous grow thread)

Grow light - 60w daylight CFL for the first week and then swapping over to Bysen SP110D LED Light 86x3w [x2 lens] 140 Watt for the rest of the grow. (I don't have 30 inches height to start with, maximum 26 inches. Would you guys recommend that i start with my LED straight ?)

Nutrients :

- BabyBio Veg nutes. NPK 5-5-5 (UK Statutory Fertilizer Declaration) / NPK 5-2.2-4.1 (ROI Statutory Fertilizer Declaration) [So i bought a new veg nute because i know that my previous one wasn't good at 18+18+18 but i don't really understand what is the difference between the two declaration so i decided to buy this because it has higher N and K for veg)

- Bloom nutes NPK 10+30+30+Te+vitamin B6

- Unsulphured Blackstrap Molasses

Strain details :

Royal AK Automatic (RQS) -

Royal Jack Automatic (RQS) -

Yield Indoor - 350-400gr m2
Height Indoor - 40 to 80 cm
Genetic background - Jack Herer x Ruderalis
Type - Sativa:40% Indica: 30% Ruderalis: 30%
Effect - A motivating and inspiring feeling

Pots - 5 Litre Air Pots (2 gal equivalent)

Seeds were placed into a cup of distilled water. After soaking for 12-24 hours i will place them into my soil. Should i preflush the soil or try something new like watering a little in the middle before planting and when they sprout i water every 2 days with small amount ?

After reading through the long introduction, please answer a few of the questions that i enquired if possible.

I will also be posting a picture of my soil(Not soaked yet) later for you guys to analyze if it's light and 'airy' enough. Please tell me if i should presoaked (15 litre of water to my 5litre airpot) or the frequent small watering method.

Seeds Soaked!

Medium Report

Alright so i watered the soil till there was like 20% run off and by tomorrow i will plant the seeds(seeds have already sinked). I felt the soil and it felt fluffy which was a good sign. I'm trying out a PH test. I labelled one of the air pot with white tape and it was watered with 6.5-6.6 phed water and another time with 6.8-6.9. The one that wasn't taped i watered with just tap water (7.8 ph) and then another time with 6.8-6.9. The reason why i did this is because i wanna see how much does PH really affects and of course i will definitely be watering with balanced ph on my next watering but i just wanna see what will happen and i can learn too.

Anyway here are the pictures of my soil to let you guys have a view on it.

Give me your opinions! And also should i start out with LED (30 inches for seedling but maximum height i have is 26 inches) or just start with cfl for a week and then swap over to LED ? :peace:

Have you ever considered the "tiered transplant" method?

If you're going straight to its final shoe again this round and you've been suffering from what I call "Big pot, Little plant" syndrome, you might try giving the plant only how much water it needs as opposed to watering the whole pot and then waiting for it to dry. Example: nothing for the first 4 days, then 40ml at day 4 after sprout, then water every 2-3 days (depending on how the soil and plant react) and increasing the amount of water you give by 20 to 30ml each time, at least until you start giving full feedings (3-4 weeks). Maybe let the plant tell you when it needs water this round instead of guessing how wet or dry the soil is? Takes days (even weeks) to recover from over-watering, but only hours to recover from under-watering.

Also, I suggest using the CFL for the first 14 days minimum "My 2 cents"

Round 4, here we go  Good Luck! :karma Cloud:

I would love to try the tiered transplant method next time! Is there any guide for that method ? So i will use my 60w daylight cfl for 14 days and then at week 2 i will swap over to my LED ? I understand it is for the good for my plant but i would love to know what is the reason for 2 weeks instead of 1 week too ? And thank you so much for being here with me ! :coffee2:

Full Duplex's Guide to Growing Hefty Autos covers Tiered Transplanting (stickied in the Micro section). Sweet's Seed's Fast Bud test grow uses it (also uses the watering method i described).

Autos are in the seedling stage for the first 3 weeks. I just think your LED might be too powerful for anything under 2 weeks. I'd wait to see what others have to say though too.

adding: a 60W CFL is plenty of lumens for the 1st 2 weeks imo. you could also move it high enough away if your leaving

Alright i will check out those two threads. Thing is i'm travelling from 2-7 march so i won't be at home to adjust the cfl light for my babies so i'm afraid they might grow into the light and die. Will see how it goes and see whats others have to say. Cheers buddy. :tiphat:

K'crox,

Howdy howdy, how we all doing here? Looks like you got your stick together here. Just thought I would check out yer grow. Looking good at this point, I probably would have added perlite. But I don't know tons. JMO. Glad to see your moving forward and good grow karma for them beans.

Howdy there Eek! Really love that name you gave me, K'crox. Just wow. Thank you for checking out my grow, appreciated mate. Anyway, i didn't add perlite because i am already using airpot and there is plenty of air flow for the roots as long as the soil isn't heavy.

Peace

K'crox

Yes, you mentioned the fluffy. If it ever packs in, you can re fluff as well, as long as you re getting the drainage yes?

Good luck ,and I will be back

Peace
