Live Stoner Chat Laptop to TV wireless connection ...

I would like to connect my laptop to the TV wirelessly ... I want to be able to use my HDMI tv as a monitor, not just pics and videos but everything on my screen ... I have Roku but if there is a channel that does what I want I can't find it ... not knowing much about this stuff doesn't help ... anybody know how to do what I'm trying to do ?

What kind of TV is it? Does it support wireless connections? I can't do a wireless connect to my Samsung without buying a special wireless adapter so I'm hardwired, which is fine by me. Faster than wireless.

I do know what you are looking for. However they are not inexpensive. I have several of them and use them almost every day. I think they cost about $365.00 HDMI and VGA in and wireless transmission to a TV with HDMI in. It's called HD Flow, made by peerless sold by Markertek a pro A/V house. I can recommend it as it works well for this application and we use two of them almost daily as I said before.

Edit: A 25-50 foot HDMI cable from Monoprice for a whole lot less!!

I use 'apple tv' to watch fims, tv or look at pictures on my TV from my main computer, laptop, phone and tablet

Hey! just saw this post! Look into a Google Chromecast. There are generic versions of this too called EZ Cast. I'm using the Easy Cast, but will be switching to the Chromecast. The EZ Cast works, I just don't like how it handles web browsing. I have used it however to "cast" Youtube videos to my tv

Yesss

It works well with youtube, netflix, bbc iplayer and (pffft) redbull tv on the ipad.

I just wish they all got together and came out with one system. To watch WatchTV and sky and amazon and all the others ... in one luxury box

What I'm trying to do is use my laptop 'hooked' to my TV to look for decorating ideas ... all I'm really trying to do is see the laptop's screen on my TV w/o an HDMI wire ... TV is the most accurate w/ color representation ... wife and I are redecorating the house and we're going nuts trying to decide on colors ... I like the bright green color of 3 week old weed and she's more into the browns ... thanks for the help.

The problem with all of the 'cast devices is that they are restricted to casting aware applications. Transmitter / receiver type only require an output and an input nothing else is needed. Still not cheap though.
