Hello all,

I have my first grow going. I have found that people have quite different opinions on the height of the LED light above the plant.. In the following photo is a 90W grow UFO and a 15W grow LED hanging some 16" above the plants.

The strain is Barney's Farm Auto Sweet Tooth, btw.

Is 16" alright? Could it be more optimal?

PS. I'm not really an MD :peace:

With those low wattage lights you could lower them a little 12 to 14 inches might be better.

..Well, the UFO anyway.. I'm keeping the 15W LED at 16" because it holds the deep red 660nm diodes and needs a fair angle over all the ladies.

May I advice you to use a tent, because than allot of light will reflect onto your plants!:Sharing One:

Yea, I've been looking at a Secret Jardin tent. The thing is just that it will become pretty crowded in there with my fan, my humidifer, my surveillance cam and all the plants. So I guess I will see what I can make of this setup first. I don't even think the humidifier is a good idea in a tent to begin with, and the basement where I'm growing is as dry as down to 15% rH. What I might do at some point tho, is to make a shower curtain around the grow, out of mylar, so I can drag that around the grow when the humidity is fair and they can do without the fan for a few hours. First I want to make a couple of runs with no tent, and see what I can make of it. You can't see it in that pic, but I just put some mylar on the table today.. Not that it will estimate to much, but I wasn't using it anyway.

Peace :peace: ..and thanks for the tip.

Best of luck on the grow, I find it easier to get the numbers right in a tent! :Sharing One:

I hear ya, but do you use a humidifier? I would expect the atomized water to be running down the insides of a tent unless it was quite huge.

No the opposite! dehumidifier!
I believe that you wont get water running from the sides if you put your humidity on 40% and have enough air-circulation from your extraction fan!
The surrounding air outside the tent is so dry that it will adsorb all the moister! "My 2 cents"

Dr60 or a gl60 would do you much better than a shower curtain..space will be fine inside ans you will def get better light pen
