A pump sprayer will change your life lol. You have to figure, you're getting a super fine mist over the whole area of the pot which is much more similar to rain than a single point getting a strong flow at any given time. The soil does what soil does and absorbs that fine mist, where as with a steady stream it can only absorb so much at once!

I have floraflex mats on top of my soil. Does a great job of spreading the water out.

Nah, I just take the bottom leaves off before I have to water again lol. I actually usually take everything from the first two nodes cause I feel like they're energy loss points. Usually I'll leave 3, 4, and 5 and then top before 6. I've found that 6 mains is my sweet spot, idk why lol. Of course, depends on the plant but I usually go for ones with a longer veg that can handle it.

I struggle with the 6 vs 8 main. Like you said, depends on the strain and growth. I lean more to 8 just in case I snap one while LST.
