Well, they got me figured out...

:crying: I have a brain tic that gets me trapped in the weird and wonderful section on Temu...trying to guess what the stuff is..:crying:..

Some of it is frightening...but I must admit I do like a bit of steampunk gear...old aged punks...with money...:headbang:...if you look at the photos.. everyone dressing up has to be over 50...

You good...got that new camera mastered yet...?...
I always strive for increasing levels of goodness, too easy to take it for granted.

I pray I never do.

There is a folk curse of three parts, each increasing in severity. The third verse is: May you find what you are looking for.

I've always interpreted this to mean may you lose purpose and meaning in life.

It's not actually the camera that has to be mastered, it's our understanding of how light works, and falls off over distance, and how aperture effects this. I have the type of neurodivergence that makes that sort of 3D calculation innately.

The timing aspect is very exciting for me to get right.

Human reaction is at best about .400 seconds, pro tree. This means that by the time your eye sees something and your brain processes the decision to press the shutter, almost half a second has passed and we've missed the shot.

The trick is you have to anticipate, meld with the performer. In music and theater, the best shots are always on the beat.

If you clap on 1 and 3 or 2 and 4 your shots are going to be different.

Also being bitterly critical of my own work has been helpful. Deleting sub standard shots is very painful, but it teaches me to make different mistakes the next time.

Yeah...:headbang:...I'm still old enough to remember having to post film away to get it developed..and 10 days before you got them back..if you'd cocked it up you lost the moment...with digital..you have the ability to take 100 shots and delete 99..

I remember reading all the news and photos of WW 2 were a week old because the war correspondents had to drive back through France ..then get the photos developed before they got into a newspaper..

Now I take a shot and within a minute or two I can share it world wide...it is amazing...:photog:
